Avalanches were common here. Beasts tiptoe in search of prey. Christmas occurs every day for successful hunters. Dining in between flesh and bones, the drooling stains the snow pink.

Every day, Mugsy watches unfortunate beings that enter this frosted desert. Fickle worms were his treat of choice, pecking away, he was glad he didn't have to wash the blood of his feathers. For what good would eating a mammal twice the size of you?

"Good morning, Mugsy!" the grey wolf howled. "How are you doing up there?"

"I am well, thank you. Just keeping myself to myself..."

"Kindly use your beak to bring those figs besides you to the floor, will you, old chap?"

Looking over, Mugsy could see the stern figs were nowhere near ripe. "Must I?"

Nodding, the wolf barked. "October is the best time of year to do it. Peck them for me. Queenie shall reward you"

"Reward?"

"She said she hire me to be your bodyguard."

"The figs aren't ready yet."

Underneath the branches, a warm breath tickled his feet as the fragile figs dropped to the ground.

Vulnerable ferrets eyed up the green fruit that brought beautiful hues onto the blanched grounds. Warning the ferrets, Mugsy hooted and flew towards the wolf and excreted droppings on the wolf's head.

Xanthic teeth and red eyes steered towards Mugsy's direction, as the ferrets made their escape.

"You're a bugger, you are," the wolf growled and charged towards the moon.

Zig-zagging down, Mugsy pecked into his pudding.
