The mind can perform miraculous feats in a short amount of time. It’s the simple things that baffles scientist, prompting extensive research. Most of which are a waste of taxpayers' money. There is no solution to certain mental processes. In layman's terms, it is what it is.

* * *

“Jennifer, meet Stacy. She’ll be conducting today's Audit. I need you to show her around and answer any of her questions. Thank you both. Gotta run!”

Mr. Williams leaves them to tend to other pressing matters.

“Alright, Tracy. Where shall we start?”

“Um… it’s Stacey”

“Oh! My bad… Would you excuse me for a moment, I need to take this call?”

Jennifer answers her phone, she stays in earshot distance.

“Hey Mike, let me call you back. I’m in a meeting with Lacey, the auditor.”

Stacey rolls her eyes as Jennifer turns her phone to silent mode and sets it on her desk.

“Sorry about that, Macie. The guys in marketing are selling raffle tickets again.”

“Look! The name is Stacey! Would it help if I write it across my forehead?”

“Really? You can borrow my sharpie, its right over-"

“Forget it! Can we just get on with the audit."

"Sure thing... But for the record, what's your name again?"

"It's Stacey!!!"

"That's so odd, my youngest daughter’s name is Stacey. Sorry, I was recently diagnosed with Alzchuism. I have a hard time remembering names. I’ll just think of you as my daughter, if that's okay.”

"Ha-ha, Sure whatever."

Haha! Phew, I'm happy to finally have a diagnosis! I definitely have this. Now I need a cure! lol! Great word and story to go with it!

Hahaah!!! This should be a real thing because I would have it!! At least Jennifer was close with her guesses!! When I forget someones name, I make one up for them and it doesn't go well! 😅 Great story Lamar, love that it's relatable and was a cause for a good laugh!

Wait.. is this real??! Because if so, I feel less alone lol. I swear every time I meet someone in person, they become Laura. I have never known a Laura in my life... but every single woman I meet in real life- is named Laura in my brain. I really try so hard to remember names. I do. And I can't. -_-

I wish it was socially acceptable to write someone’s name in sharpie on their forehead. 😅 perhaps in a virtual world. This word is so relatable!

  • Well, at least Jennifer didn't call her Crazy 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don't have trouble remembering names. But I have trouble with faces. Like I'll remember Lamar but I wouldn't be able who recall which one is Lamar. Lol. Loved your word and story!

  • Instead of a brain fart, it's more of a brain sneeze. "Oops, there goes another name from my head!"

Ha! Excellent! The word is fantastic. The story is relatable and fun. Everyone knows someone who gets everyone’s name wrong all the time no matter how many times you tell them. 🤣

I am the poster patient for Alzchuism! I even get my kids' names mixed up sometimes. Well done, La . . . whatever your name is (I forget!) (Great stuff, as always Lamar!)
