Preface

This story is based off of the starting point of a sci-fi fantasy war story I wrote some years ago. I am taking the beginning portion of an early draft of my book and splitting it into short stories (probably 3 short stories) based off of my main character Oahron in his early childhood. This is an ongoing draft and may be a bit jagged and in need of editing. Please show support for this project to help support a bigger work based on these promotional stories I will be sharing freely online.

Prologue

Outlying distantly from all other regions within the Southern Galaxy, in an expansive place the ancient scrolls mark as "Angrhia," an earthy planet named Zein holds more beauty than anything one can imagine. The seeping latitude of this planet's natural richness surpasses most all things physically, and some things spiritually, in our absurd system of life. The entire world looks as if it were related to the astonishing ancient region of Ih’dan from the world of the humans before it was taken by the corruption of their seed --- wicked-strange creatures they show themselves to be.

Speaking in passion about my homeland, I can testify that our waters rest so clear and with a splendor delicate flow that a sensitive eye can see Zein's very ocean bottoms as a gentle stream rolls past the watcher’s foot. Our adversaries feed upon rage as they dwell in the grand mountainous ice-citadels gleaming over the ever-so-perfect seasons so far away from their own torn regions. The red-eyed creatures gaze upon us yearning for self-satisfaction within their pitiful pits of misery — for they seek only physical richness of the worlds.

In stations shallow beyond our own, unknown to the Zenroe many, creatures have been facing tarnishment, enslavement, and destruction throughout the last two decades with the hideous forces slowly creeping toward our own safe dwelling place, and yet we are so small amongst the many bigger nations. The great serpent-like race known as Sauroktians, or Sauroks for short, have long subsisted in ruthless warfare and planetary holocaust. They live to serve whatever may be powerful or almighty and not an Almighty that you would acknowledge to be sanctified.

Sauroks pledge grand loyalty by their blood-stamped creed of personal gain as proclaimed by Nexys, the god of destruction (a demigod by actuality, a true god only by reputation of their own populace). Roving by long needle-shaped space vessels, they proceed to mildly-selected targets based on planetary resources and life to be leached upon.

Now within the modern daylight, as dust engulfs their domicile-houses, they are heeded in self-honor by a new more ravish leader than ever before. A dark leader, a leader by many names who is the cause of their magnificent rise from the shadows. They were barely known amongst the many galaxies before the fiend’s emergence, even with the lingering trails of destruction that their race has casted upon the faint until they vanished, painting the pathways red. Now it is so that the lizards are feared amongst the many bigger races of the many bigger lands --- far across the vast star-span of our one-spoken universe.

Our lore says that once long, long ago their conquest was past the urge of gain for a master or a being, having but a mere tad of comprehensible reasoning to it within their own shallow minds, but now, their little brains know nothing but to slay and slaughter for the joy of it as well as the honor of their well-cherished leader. O what a powerful leader it is that they serve as he pulls their chains behind him... a king amongst the lizards and a statue amongst men. Roving randomly through worlds, his hands love nothing else but to vanquish and leech upon the blood of his periling victims as they cry out into the galaxy winds...

Thus, the legacy begins…
