A world from mine

Hopelessly following my father to every hospital his colleagues recommended made me more sad as days went by .My father is a retired nurse , he retired when he lost the love of his life to this same cancer that’s about to take his only child . I had to stop at some point and imagine how my dad felt all these years and right now. Maybe life wasn’t being unfair to me; maybe it was to my father. Maybe I am just a pawn in the game, with or without me in it; it would still be the same for him. All these outrageous thoughts made me resent myself but what could I do? I’ll still die anyways

  Weeks passed and I was admitted in the hospital for chemotherapy sessions. I became worse , more weaker , I lost all my hair and it seemed like a deja vu all happening again as I watched my mother got snatched away from me 10 years ago . I was hopeless; all I was left to do was just pray for my dying day to come faster.

“El” the soothing voice interrupted, I almost forgot that my father was always by my bedside, he closed his chicken restaurant just to be with me. All I had to do was just to live fine and healthy and I failed. “I’m sorry dad “I responded with tears rolling down my cheeks.

He held onto my hands and said “you don’t have to be sorry darling fir I know that you’ll be fine “

Knowing that those words were just to comfort me I cried even more. I mean how could I not?

yet the soothing voice again said in excitement “ I don’t like the smell of hospital , let’s go have some fun , anywhere you want to go to , whatever you want to do , anything baby , let’s go do em.

I immediately bought the idea,” there’s nothing more to life anyways “I said as I was moved onto the wheel chair by dad. Covered in heavy blankets and head warmer we started our journey.

“ dad! Can we visit my high school? , I’ve always wanted to go back there for a minute “I requested

“sure darling “he responded.

On our way down there, dad suggested we stopped by the photo studio
