i went to visit my baby today. so exciting! were in the third trimester! not long to go!
today we saw her blink for the first time. so preciuos!
the nurse kept coming in and scowling at us and dimming the lights. so annoying becuase were here to see our baby, and we cant if its to dark can we!
the nurse said our baby is reacting to light now and opening her eyes. she said we have to be careful not to hurt her eyes by having the lights turned up too much for too long. she said the womb is dark and we should be trying to copy that as much as we can. so stupid. we picked the see through woom(c) so we could see our baby!! wahts so wromg with that??? we told her its OUR baby so its OUR decision and she frowned and left.
i was really annoyed becasue i wanted to ask if we could move to another room. may be a private one. but i didnt feel comfro comfy asking after that.
the reason i want another room may be like are own room is becaus i don't relly get on with the other mum in there. the doctors think its better for the babys to be nere each other so they arent to issoll lonely. but if we carnt get a privat room i at least wont our dauhgter to share with someone else.
let me tell you about this other woman. i liked her at first. her name is hollie i think. she's having ababy boy. hes about the same age as Tiffaneigh. thats what were calling our LO.
hollie seemed nice the first time we met her. she looked so tired and sad but she smiled at us and asked about are baby. then the next time we visited she was there again and we think oh what a conici that's wierd. but we dint say anything. and then today shes their again. i think she's being selfish not giving us any time with are baby. she must of had loads of time with hers.
larst time we were thier she told us she'd Carried him, but he was born prem and nearly dyed. i feel bad for her. i do. but i guess thats why she looks kiind of fat and pale. becasue she was actch atcher really pregant. i think she thinks shes better than us. Carrying him. the way she siad it i got the vibe like she was planning to Carry him to term? like who does that??? i dont even think my gran did that. you dont get a medal. that's what my mam says.
you know what i dont think she left the place since he came out of her. shes got a matress next to him and some cloths and a tooth brush. shes been there weaks. every time we get their we can hear her singing to her baby or talking. she goes quite when we walk in. then when we leave we can hear her again.
its like she thinks shes better than us because shes there all the time and were not. her baby has a really old fashioned woom(c). its not even seethru. its covered in dark red stuff. shes never seen him since he got shut in there! you cant tell me thats right. shes got a recording of her heart and she plays it on the speaker right next to him. which is ok i guess. a bit odd but ok. then today when we got ther we cor cou caur saw her moving the speaker away from tiffineigh back to her own baby!
another reason i want tiffineigh moved is i think she reacts to hollies voice more than mine or darrens and i dont think thats right.
cant wait to go and visit her again next weak. mummys precious <3

Thank you for reading!
The detective story will be back soon.
Today I've been thinking about how much of parenting has been handed over to AI. Artificial wombs already exist, iirc there was a news story about a goat being grown in one a few years ago. Real life Matrix shit. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it, or failing that, I hope it made you think. See you tomorrow!

Whoa, LC. That is one uncanny valley of a tale! Well done!
Next up, Keanu!
This is so crazy. The idea of there being a kind of hierarchy, and the fact that some women think there already is one (natural birth vs. medicated). I think it's also an interesting commentary about convenience culture... the idea that if we can get a machine to do it, then we should. Why are we sacrificing our skills and relying on technology to this kind of extent...? AND I think that idea is completely reflected in your choice to have the narrator misspell her words -- the idea that with the resources she has, she probably doesn't need to know how to spell... Crazy and thought-provoking, LC!
I'm interested enough now to see how this plays out.
I like how you had the protagonist constantly misspell her words while using poor grammar. It helps portray the kind of woman she is, I feel sorry for Tiffineigh. And poor Hollie...hopefully her baby will turn out okay. Great story!
