A Wise Fisherman and the Greedy Gatekeeper
Greed is a curse

In our country Pakistan, there are different types of fish, but in our province of Sindh, it has a type of fish called "Pala fish" which is delicious, tasty and nutritious or powerful.
Once the king of Sindh fell ill. He showed many rulings but nothing happened. Then a sage decided to treat the king and after examining the king he said, "Where should I seek refuge?
The solution to your illness is to get fresh fish from somewhere and make it a part of your diet, then insha'Allah your illness will be over within a week. ”The king was very happy to hear this and he announced that whoever would bring a fish for the king would be given a lot of rewards and honors.
Dear children, it was not easy to catch fish at that time and fish was not usually available. A non-fisherman thought, "Let me try my luck. If I catch a fish, I will give it to the king and get some reward.
Maybe my situation will get better." Just thinking this, he turned towards the river and set a net in the name of Allah. What Allah did was that a fish was caught in his net. Now the fisherman was very happy and he immediately took control of the fish, put it in the basket and went to the king's palace.
Dear children, when this strange fisherman reached the door of the king's palace, he was stopped by a janitor. This janitor was very greedy. He asked the fisherman why do you want to meet the king? The fisherman told the porter the whole story that if I give this fish to the king, the king will give me rewards and honors.
The greedy janitor said to him, "I will let you go in, on the condition that you will give me half of whatever reward you will get." The fisherman was very angry but he was very wise. At this time it is not right to quarrel with the janitor. First I will go in, and meet the king and then I will cure the greed of this janitor. He obeyed the janitor, thinking that I would give you half of whatever reward I was given.
The fisherman came to the king's court and gave the fish to the king. The king was very happy because one of the fish was fresh and the other was very big, so the king was happy and said to him, My heart is glad. Now I will give you the same reward that you ask of me. ”Hearing this, a plan came to the fisherman's mind to punish the janitor and he said, Get well, this is my reward,
but if you want to give me a reward, let me be flogged a hundred times. That is my reward. "The king and the courtiers were very surprised to hear this and asked him, 'What is this reward?' He said, "You just said, 'I will get what you ask for, so I will be flogged a hundred times.
The King was compelled by his stubbornness and he called the executioner and called him closer and said, "This man is very good, so whip him, but only slowly so that he will not be harmed." The executioner started flogging the fisherman slowly as per the king's order. The fisherman kept counting.
When he had fifty lashes, he stopped the executioner and said to the king, He was promised that he would distribute half of whatever reward he received. The king was astonished and asked, "Well, you have a companion. Why didn't you tell me first? Tell me, who is that companion and where is he?" The fisherman said, "Send the executioner with me so that I can reward my companion." Along with the executioner, the king also followed the fisherman to see what was going on.
Arriving at the gate of the palace, the fisherman said to the porter, "Look, I have received my reward. Now I have come to give you half the reward as promised." Then he said to the king and the executioner, "This is my companion. Fifty lashes! The king's astonishment increased and he said, "This is my porter.
How did he become your companion?" Then the fisherman told the king everything. The king was very angry when he heard this and he ordered the executioner, “Count this greedy gatekeeper with all your might and give him fifty lashes and beat him so hard that his screams will come out .
After that, the king summoned the fisherman to Durbah court and sent him away with many rewards and honors. See, children, such a wise fisherman with his wisdom punished the greedy gatekeeper for his greed.
