A Tender Heart

We met in a coffee shop.

Our hands touched when you grabbed your drink. You took a sip. Said it tasted exquisite.

I said I liked your smile.

You said you liked my eyes.

It was love at first sight.

We started seeing each other frequently after that. At the market, the park, the pool, the pub, all your favorite restaurants, your apartment…

One day you came by to tell me it was over. To stop sending gifts and following you. You called me a stalker. A creep. You broke my heart.

So I ate yours. And it tasted exquisite.

Im envisioning the velvet red juices dripping off your chin. Your Diamond black eyes are unblinking as a slight upturn at the corners of your mouth exhibit pleasure. Great story Aphotic. Congratulations 🥇

  • "Knowing I'm on the street where she lives." Let's face it. She was always going to end up with Professor Higgins, no matter how cold & restrained his feelings.

This is wonderful! Every word matters and takes on a double meaning. “We started seeing each other frequently after that” — perfect example. It was a joy to read once and then again after that. Congrats on TS too! 😁

Oh my gosh. This is absolutely amazing. The twist, the way it comes full circle with the word ‘exquisite’ and the way the title completely changed meaning. Absolutely perfect!
