The date went perfectly!!! I waited for him a few minutes, but it was okay. We met near the Washington Square Arch, and it was a very relaxed way to get to know each other. We went to a cozy café called Lotus Notes nearby, and the atmosphere was really pleasant. I ordered a latte and told him about my life. He seemed interested listening to my background, considering I’m half Russian. He seems like a great conversationalist because he truly listened to every detail I shared.
He was wearing a shirt, shorts, and white sneakers. He’s super cute when he smiles. He gave me a few compliments, and my heart was pounding like crazy. Could it be that I’m falling in love?? We parted exactly at 10PM because he has work tomorrow. I didn’t ask what he does for a living. He waited with me for the subway and then left. He’s such a sweetheart.
My mom’s stressing me out again because I’m coming home after 9PM and I didn’t take the dogs for a walk. I hope he liked me as much as I liked him. On the subway, I sent a voice message to my best friend. Everyone absolutely approves of James. He’s really interesting and attractive. He told me he lives with a roommate in Williamsburg. I really like that he’s independent.
Tomorrow I work the morning shift again, maybe I could invite him for coffee after work since I work in Midtown. I feel butterflies in my stomach, like I’m in 8th grade again. I messaged him that I got home. My room’s a mess because I was trying on outfits for tonight, but I can’t tidy up.
For hours now, I’ve been thinking about inviting him for a drink tomorrow. I want to repeat this.
“Hey, would you like to go for a drink with me after work tomorrow? I work in Midtown, so we could meet there.”
We really enjoyed today’s conversation; it was exactly the positive change I needed. This year is going to be it! Now, let me sleep.
