A Lover's Wrath

And Fortuitous Find

By Jacinth RysePublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The Elder Dragon sneers at the other deity's challenge. "You scorn the wish of your fallen?"

Fië's voice thunders across the plains. "Soë's dream died with them."

They rampage across the world's disc in battle. Mountains split. Hills become valleys. Islands disappear.

Rage unsatisfied, Fië glares down at the dragon's unmoving form, resisting the urge to utterly destroy him.

Balance be preserved. Urdima decides which branches are pruned.

A glimmer catches Fië's eye. They reach down and wrench a vaguely bell-shaped bone from Daathi's ear.

Fië nods. "This toll will protect mine even as it shames you."
