361 Memoirs of Eddie H. Christ, Jesus' Little Brother—"Come in Peace"

Premature Release, for Thursday, December 26, Day 361 of the 2024 Story-a-Day Challenge

So let’s see. The Christmas star was so mysterious that no one would've guessed the real truth.

There was that supernova theory, for which we can be thankful that we have stuff like Cesium in us—and iron doesn’t hurt none either. And then there are all the comet theories; there’s the hypothetical conjunctional conglomeration of three planets in the constellation Pisces.

But it wasn’t any of those things.

Jesus told me if was a UFO—an unidentified flying object. Of course in those times, anything that flew that wasn’t a bird or a locust was unidentified. Or just some plague.

But the Christmas star was a real alien spaceship. It seems that an advanced civilization had also been saved by a Messiah long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, and they were advanced enough to know what was happening here. So naturally, they wanted to check it out—I mean, wouldn’t you? Consider the stakes!

I can hear all the atheists out there (you know who you are!) saying it should've been ignored and forgotten. Don't they know some other Messiah would've shown up. At least this one said love your neighbor. And forgive your enemies. God knows (God knows He knows!) some other "annointed ones" caused a lot of death and destruction. And don't go citing the Crusades. That wasn't on Jesus. That was on us!

Whenever men choose to speak for God, well, don't get me started.

If we found out a Son o’God had been born on Mars, don't you think Elon would drop a little rover drone following him around till the batteries ran out or a miracle turned dust into lithium like water to wine. Who knows?

This is why it was such a reliable beacon for the two wise men and the one stupid guy. It hovered right over the nativity. It came when Jesus was born and then hung over that spot, illuminating the whole pasture with its liquid vapor incandescent beam until Joseph, Mary, and Jesus split for Egypt.

Then it split, too, jumping timelines to its next vantage point which, as I understand it, was to be about thirty-three years later over a place called Golgotha.

I really enjoyed this fresh take on an age-old story. The idea of the Christmas Star as a UFO sparks both curiosity and reflection on how interconnected the universe might be

Loved every word of this and even laughed at the cut line on your last pic identifying Eddie in the foreground. Really great stuff, Gerard!

I started singing A Spaceman Came Travelling. Couldn't help myself.

Premature literation, since nobody's going to be reading on Christmas day, Hanukkah, or [INSERT HERE]. Enjoy early.
