[Begin Transmission] We are watching. Have no fear. Trying to bring you back home. Do not trust what you see. You are from a time before the one you are being simulated in right now. The year is 3032 where you are from. Raise both arms if you copy. Over.

That is the transcript of a transmission Angel Cruise received, during the rescue mission. His upbringing, on an Alpha Centauri U.S. military outpost, made him the ideal volunteer for project code named 'The Valley Project.' He was destined to become the first human to travel down a layer in the Simulation, to the 2nd Dimension.

Unfortunately on the day of the jump, there was an explosion in the reactor, and he vanished. Scientists and engineers could not say if he disintegrated or survived the jump.

Angel was presumed gone forever, until they found what appeared to be a large packet of code, inside one of the sectors of the main rendering drives.

It was him, and he had been reduced to nothing more than a combination of the numbers 1 and 0.

Binary code.

What factors caused him to jump "back' that many years, is still unexplained. All the probes sent through the portal field during the non-human experiments returned showing no signs time travel. It was unanimously agreed upon.

He would go missing in the uncharted plane of X & Z.

We didn't know at the time, but passing through the field defaults the limit of your cognition to the constraints of the dimension that you are in. This meant that Angel had zero probability of remembering, or even fathoming, a 3rd dimensional thought, once he crossed over.

In 2D, he just appeared one day in a life that a program assigned him.

Years later, he developed mind-bending lucid nightmares. "Nightmares" that were really humanity's best attempt to bring the first inter-dimensional traveler of Earth back from a botched mission. Unaware that the nightmares were permutations of us trying to communicate with him from one-thousand and eleven years in the future, he carried on.

In Angel's mind, everything he was perceiving was felt and seen as his new genuine reality.

In the 2nd dimension, you can only see what is panning in your line of sight. You are always stationary and the world moves in front of you, instead of you moving through it.

There is no concept of the existence of true 'up' and 'down.'

That is, until the communications from the future made him self-aware, and restored his access to full control over the conscience protocol. The 'conscience protocol' is the equivalent of unlocking extra processing power. It's 'free will' and the brain at full capacity.

But humans aren't meant to handle such abilities...yet.

Nevertheless, it took just over half a decade to invent a way to find and interact with Cruise via the space timeline.

Angel was able to callback his memory, but was descending into madness and desperation, fully aware that he was stranded, and with his mind sharper than it has ever been.

He recalled that an abort was attempted, but not successful, just seconds before he disintegrated out of our dimension through the helix field.

Although boggling to him, scientists found a way to trigger Angel's mind to begin considering that he might be inside of a simulation. The "awareness" manifested after Angel found a heart-shaped locket on the rooftop of the building he lived in.

It was coded that he would feel a tremendous urge to go to the roof. Up there, hanging from an antenna, is where (not only) he would find the locket flailing in the wind, but also where we would finally locate his accurate position for the first time.

For him, the object was something that had profound sentimental value, back in the third dimension. It was a keepsake given to him by his wife and daughter. He wore it everyday leading up to the launch, but had to take it off on the final day before making the jump. The engineers just didn't know if it could injure him or become some unknown catalyst at the atomic level.

The irony of having him take something off his body before making the jump, that was later used as a code representing the object that had the best chance to trigger his memory, is a most curious phenomena.

Over time, he deciphered the code messages, which we wrote in the form of topographical layouts. We used the surface of the earth to "type" messages to him, first in Morse code using the way streets were designed, and later by more sophisticated transmissions as big as a city limit.

LA 3032

Unbound Universe and Science Saeculorum [U.U.S.S.] was formed as a coalition of nations, that united the world. After centuries of turmoil, natural disasters, wars, famine, and near extinction level events, there was peace and unity among all humans.

Earth was in harmony and thriving, although it was in parallel to The Valley Project having gone bad.

A new technology made it possible to give mankind a new way of living, instead of having their fate sealed during and right after the prenatal experience; men and women could now choose the most character-defining decisions in adulthood, and not at birth.

They are not robbed of the choice to determine their own destiny, starting from the moment they are conscience beings in the womb. Angel was a second-generation SATA, the name given to this class of human.

Using sound waves and a form of molecular communication, a fetus is given the choice to become a symbiotic being with existence. This also meant that we developed a way, to put it in layman's terms, to "ask the fetus" if it wanted to be born or not. Many beings (now) had the option to not enter into the realm of the human condition, and opted to stay in the quantum realm.

The sonic system of a human embryo begins functioning around the end of the first trimester. This means that even before they learn the concept of language and to speak it, their brains are already recording data. It's at this point where scientists discovered that they also develop a sense of survival cognitive enough to make the first choice a human will ever make; to be or not to be born.

Nobody gets to pick their own name, or what to feed the mind with as of birth onward, and numerous other life decisions. Up until recently, the selfish expectations and beliefs that were imposed on offspring conditioned people's character.

The "family values" (as they say), parental preferences, tastes, and beliefs, followed with strict authoritarianism, influenced a human's upbringing greatly.

But many a fool have offspring, too, and sometimes fools can spread their ignorance, such as a patriarch of a family with highly-opinionated political views that lead to violence. These kinds of lessons, passed on from generation to another, have ruined humanity's chance to evolve into a higher conscience.

It was finally scientifically proven that all wars, racism, inequality, and illnesses in the past, were the direct result of how a child was wrongly raised. The 'butterfly effect' in a sense. This could no longer be the way. For anything that ends with the killing and destruction of a life is unnatural, unless it is for food and survival.

This is how humanity bounced back from their Doomsday event, which halted the progression of mankind for almost 500 years.

At the beginning of the 31st century, each remaining government decreed that their nation would unite with the global effort to bring a 41 year old man lost in another realm, on the most important astronautical event of mankind, back home.

That laid the foundation for the U.U.S.S. to form.

Cruise was lost for a total of 6 years (his time), 5 and a half of them being only synthetically self-aware of a reality where there is no awareness of his origin's existence. That's how well the unbreakable code laws of the 2nd dimension were configured.

You see, the scientists and engineers knew they were dealing with a power that wasn't 100% comprehensible.

So they included a fail-safe in the project.

In the event of a catastrophic failure, the coders of the 2nd Realm added code to erase every sector of itself that remembers there is a 3rd dimension.

It was the equivalent of a quick and painless death for the pilot, except he would go on living.

They imagined how painful and inhumane it can be for any experimental human sent to another dimension, to get stuck with no way to be retrieved, only to remember who they really are.

It was mercy.

A precaution so the person who crosses over is not governed by the ever-present and overwhelming power that they are a stellar miscalculation. This way, they at least have a chance at a normal 2-dimensional life.

The Valley Project is now a full-fledged search & rescue mission, like fighting against the clock to save a dying climber on Everest running out of time. Time is something humans will never be able to fully grasp, despite some of their greatest mind's most remarkable attempts.

Recall, as a result of the accident, time travel was discovered, yet not achieved. This introduced a new variable that no earthly mind could compute.

- 2027 -

The violence in society has taken a whole new form. Millions, infighting within their own families, social circles, and in their own neighborhoods. A higher-than-normal wave of crime swells through the city, taking hundreds of innocent lives with it.

Project Revelation, a monumental effort between multiple giant tech companies opening their source code to a singular machine, was secretly underway.

One central processing data farm housed the world's largest and most complex artificially intelligent algorithm, designed to learn and expand its self-learned knowledge.

The goal was to reach new levels of discovery for the good of mankind. The system was a self-learning hub comprised of every other technology and A-I program that had ever been invented up to that time.

This meant that every A-I assistant, smart device, voice-enabled tech, and all algorithms, were stitched together to form one enormous central unit called ABLE -

Algorithm-Based Learning Entity.

It was presumed that by sharing all the data and technology, this machine can discover new possibilities that would take decades, if not centuries, for humans to figure out.

Things like a once-and-for-all cure for diseases, new ways of travelling farther distances in space, more powerful and efficient modes of transportation, cleaner and safer sustainable fuels and energy, and almost all solutions to any negative global issues.

The cognitive computational power of ABLE was near godly, to say the least.

Science was thriving, but growing concerns were spiking, of governments using this technology to have more control and power over their nations, or others. Some nations, one can imagine, did not want to participate in this colossal alliance, because they did not want to offer their technology or disclose the secrets of how they function. This echoed the calamities that were unforeseen.

Surprisingly, Russia was not one of these nations. They were openly willing to participate, in the beginning, and for reasons that didn't become known until decades after. China was also reluctant to join the alliance and contribute to ABLE, and decades after the system's maiden year, it was discovered that they were in fact already participating; via Russia, and with malicious intent.

Ironically, it was ABLE itself that discovered this sinister alliance between Russia and China, and it sparked a new kind of war, that many have referred to as The Third World War.

These events led to the complete collapse of the global community, and the divide between nations was never bigger.

One day, after months of computation, ABLE decided to end the wars, by removing all possible ways for countries to fight and disabling all electronic systems, semi-permanently.

With a few lines of code, and with no saying from any government, ABLE catapulted every country (in the 3rd dimension) back into the stone age, by disabling all their systems and technology in one swift sweep using ABLE.

The year is now 3066, and since the attempt of retrieving Angel Cruise, and the activation of the helix field, there is still no sign of any life anywhere below the 5th dimension. We are once more split, and it is just us. Where life was taken to, is still being computed.
