Who I am?

So I am sure your probably wondering about the picture? Yes I am that cool but this lends itself to a little bit more about me and how I am as a dad.

When I was growing up I wanted to be a dad and a husband . I always wanted to be the cool dad, the dad that never really followed the crowd . This picture provides a window into me being the “unconventional dad”

Now I have been told that most dads don’t listen to heavy metal or play violent video games…I saw bull plop to that.

I wanted to teach my son life through call of duty zombies and Fortnite (maybe that explains why he is the way is). I wanted my son to see his dad as multifaceted and layered, and that there is more to me then just being his dad (which is my greatest joy don’t get me wrong ).

I wanted him to see the fact that he to can be a cool dad if he wants. He doesn’t have to wear the new balance shoes and birth control glasses. (Never mind I may be wearing some as I type this lol)

Now I know I’m gonna hear some comments “cool is all about perspective “ and you would be absolutely wrong 😑. Lol (only kidding )

It is all about perspective about what’s cool or what’s not , I am only telling you that I wanted to be different than most dads. I wanted to make sure he knew there was never a dull moment (which he stated there hasn’t been many lol) I wanted my son to also not remember the mistakes I’ve made so he doesn’t put me in a home lol.

Look, I know I have railed a but about is cool and what isn’t . I do know that it’s truly subjective thing. I hope you take away some things from my Ted talk lol.

1. I’m a bit of goof.

If your wanting me to be prim and proper while writing I don’t know what to tell you. I’m currently eating a bag of donuts and drinking a monster lol.

2. I have great taste in clothing .

I mean look at the hoodie! That hoodie is a fine piece of clothing, Armani couldn’t have made that better. The horror icons really bring it together .

3. I may have a striking resemblance to Peter Dinklage .

I mean I see it and I’m okay with it .

4. Just because I’m a bit kooky doesn’t mean you need to be.

In all seriousness, just because I’m the way that I am doesnt mean you need to be me. I just wanted to share a little insight into how I tackle father hood.

Did I do a good job with it in this story ? Maybe or maybe not.

Really the cool thing is that you be you. Dads being you and I mean being authentically you is absolutely amazing and unbelievably cool.

I don’t want you think that just being you and being ordinary isn’t cool because sometimes it is. People always look for the exciting and the stimulation but sometimes the peace and stability takes so much more strength because look out at our world today . People are thriving on chaos and dads (I guess everyone else too 😝) please understand that being cool sometimes doesn’t mean having to keep up with the jones..life isn’t a competition. (I’d win anyway..only kidding )
