Title: “Who am I?”

General Purpose: To inform.

Specific Purpose: I will inform the audience about who am I as a person.

Organizational Pattern: Topical Order

Introduction:

Good morning everyone,

1) (Attention Getter/State Name): Today I am going to tell you guys something interesting about me and we’ll try to get to know each other. As of now we both have something in common, that you don’t know what I am going to tell neither do I! I am an introvert and, my name is Syed Muhammad Subhan.

2) (Reveal Topic): I got an opportunity to introduce my self that who am I and where am I from.

3) (Listener Benefits): Non of you guys could imagine that I recently came here in America. I was born and Grew up in Karachi the biggest city of Pakistan. Yes, I am an immigrant here. I came here to pursue my higher studies. Believe or not my life is become an adventure for me and today I will share some interesting things about it.

4) (Credibility and Statement): Before I get to it, I would like to thank you for your time to listen to me and today. I am really exited for this opportunity and looking forward to hearing speeches from all of you.

5) (Thesis Statement and Preview of Main Points): To get to know me I will be telling you about 4 specific areas that is have shaped in my speech.

A. First, I will tell you about my background and journey.

B. Second, I will tell you about my beautiful family.

C. Third, I will share my hobbies which I do in my fee time.

D. Forth, I will share my career goals and targets.

TRANSITION: Now that you are aware of what we will discuss, I’ll begin by explaining my Background

Body:

I. (Main Point#1/MP): My forefather belongs to East-Western Asia, India. They migrated to Pakistan in 1947 which is in the East of Asia.

A. (Subpoint/SP): I was born and grew up in a biggest city of Pakistan called Karachi which is also known as The City of lights.

a) Population of Karachi is 5times more then the population of Chicago.

b) Karachi is famous for it nightlife because Karachi never sleeps.

B. (Subpoint/SP): Our Pakistani Culture is very different than American culture, like we celebrate Eid instead of Christmas.

a) We live together with our cousins and family in a big house and we share everything we have and so they as well. Our native language is Urdu..

Transition: In September 2022 I leave my country to came here in America for higher studies. The only thing I am miss here is my family.

II. (Main Point#2): In our family I have 2 brothers and 1 sister. Yes I am the middle child of my family.

A. (Subpoint/SP): My elder brother studied in DDS(Doctor of Dental Surgery) in a renowned medical school and my elder sister is doing CPA(Certified Public Accountant). She is about to finish her degree. My Father is also an Accountant and my mother is a house wife.

a) Before I came here in America we used to went out to the beaches of Pakistan which is in the Arabian Sea.

B. (Subpoint/SP): In September 2022, my whole family came here in America. We had a lot of fun here we go to Downtown for Cycling, we ride approximately 10 mile that day. Some other day we also go to Willis Tower Skydeck it was also a good experience.

a) We also went to Orlando, Florida where we go to Sea World its also a good experience to seeing a marine life that closely.

Transition: Some more interesting thing in my life is my hobbies.

III. (Main Point#3): You may not found me as an athlete or adventurous but believe me I did various kind of things in my life.

A. (Subpoint): I am very serious and competitive in playing Ping-Pong. I played Ping-Pong in “All School Tournament”.

a)In sports there is only two options Either you win or you learn. So, on that day I learned a lot, means we lost very badly. But I can challenge any of you for a friendly match.

B. (Subpoint): One of my other hobbies is I used to go on a shooting range with my brothers and friends. No worries all the guns and other equipment are licensed and never be misused.

a) Nowadays since the classes started used to make a server in a Virtual Machine and tanker with it for the sake of fun and it also helped me out with my upcoming classes.

Transition: Messing with the Server and tankers helps me out with the understanding of the Cyber Security.

IV. (Main Point#4): I came here at COD to start my Higher Education as an Associate degree in Cyber Security. I choose this degree because I feel like that my interest in Severs, Hacking and Networks.

A. (Subpoint): My Future plans is to transfer my credit into UIC for bachelors in Cyber security and Defense.

a) Choosing The University of Illinois Chicago is I believe it is one of the best University for Bachelors and its near to my home also.

B. (Subpoint): Then for the Masters in Cyber Security I have a target to go to MIT in future. It’s the best institute for Computer courses

a) By doing Masters from MIT, I will be a great specialist in Cyber Security.

Transition: In conclusion…

Conclusion:

I. (Restate Thesis): I am happy that I got opportunity to introduced myself and now you got an idea that who am I.

II. (Summarize 4 Main Points): Today you’ve learned about the areas of my life. That where I belongs to and what’s the culture of that area. Second and the most important thing is my family. How we spend time together. The hobbies of mine that what I do or used to do in my free time. And the last thing is my career goals.
