The Trouble With... Today.
How too many people are ignoring the signs.

It wasn't that long ago, that the world was shocked to the core. There, on national television, were the words that no parent ever wants to read; SCHOOL SHOOTING. It was April 20th, 1999, and the school was Columbine Highschool, in Columbine Colorado.
Something like this, in my mind, had never happened before. It struck me as absolutely unfathomable. Why would two kids go to school and shoot a bunch of their classmates and teachers?
Well, as the days and weeks and months went by, a variety of different motives came to light. The teens had planned the entire thing out, even swore a suicide pact, which they ended up carrying out. As the reasons why these two teens did what they did, came to light, the nation tried to understand the shortcomings that had led to this terrible moment.
Bullying, social harassment, embellishing violence and drug use became the new things for parents to fear. Instantly, every video game that contained violence was considered taboo. NC17 and other kinds of ratings began to accompany video games. Anti-bullying campaigns began taking hold in schools across the nation. Parents, and authorities, blamed everything and everyone, without getting to the real nitty gritty of the situation.
What we have here, is a failure to recognize, and understand, the root of the problem, and unless we address it, unless we demand REAL CHANGE, in my opinion, we will never be rid of this sort of violence, this senseless killing.
As I write this, I know in today's headlines, there have been THREE MASS SHOOTINGS within the last 24 hours, in California alone. I know of another in Louisiana that occurred yesterday. Another the day before that. And do I know why? Yes, I know why. I also know what could possibly have prevented them all. MORALS.
Oh, go ahead and slap me. I'm not advocating for violence, but I am being quite serious. Back when I was a kid, lets say, ten years old, so... 38 years ago... I went to school... and one of the lessons was MORALS. Davie finds a puppy and it's hurt. What do you do? A.) Throw rocks at it. B.) Toss it in a lake. C.) Kick the puppy D.) Find a teacher to help. E.) Try to pet the puppy. The answer was D, although a close second was E, but the teacher made sure to explain that puppies, even though they were small and cute, they might be scared, or hurt, and they could still bite, so the best answer, the safest answer, was D.
I remember a friend of mine saying that the correct answer was actually B. He said he lived on a farm and they had to "put down" a lot of animals, especially if they got hurt, and the easiest and cheapest way to do that, was to just toss them in the lake and let them drown. I remember giving him a horrified look, and he looked admonished for his suggestion to me, which I think was a bit of that additional learning that goes on when you speak out loud with others who have morals, and you realize your ideals are not right. You get looked down upon. Frowned at. Your thoughts, get pointed out, as "not normal".
Soon after I graduated, things began to take a vastly different turn with education, morals, and, well, education in general. PARENTS began taking a vastly different turn I might say. No longer were they satisfied with the "safety" of their children at school. And, at the same time, they insisted that their children were not to be "treated" like prisoners while attending school. This, to me, was the catch 22. How do you secure a school and make it into the next Fort Knox, and at the same time, allow students to feel any kind of independence or individuality?
Next, we find the solution to bullying, is strict anti-bullying measures, including encouraging everyone to become snitches, reporting on each other, which in turn only singles you out as a snitch, or someone who can't handle a bit of social inequality. Stir into the mix, a huge amount of "lenience" when it comes to what kids are allowed to do and say, because, they aren't hurting anyone, right?
A lot of people don't know what I'm talking about. Okay, I'll explain it to you.
When I was a kid, I got picked on. It caused me to re-evaluate things in life quite often. I also absolutely cherished movies where the underdog finally gets his day. A Christmas Story, is my absolute favorite movie of all time. Scut Farkas! He had yellow eyes... Yellow eyes! So help me God... YELLOW EYES!!! Karate Kid, Back to the Future, Stand By Me, and a whole host of other movies, all had plots where the central character was bullied, demoralized, tortured even, only to finally have their day, either through some break through triumphant chance of fate, or maybe they just finally had enough, and built up the courage to finally do something about their situation.
When I was a kid, we were taught that, sometimes bad stuff happens. It might be our fault, it might not be, but the point was, we could overcome it. Anyone and everyone could overcome it. You just had to remember, never give up, never give in. Over the top! Go for the gold! You can make it!
And now, with all the anti-bullying measures, comes something people didn't quite plan on. An entire generation of people who simply cannot handle the social injustices that the post-high school world, has waiting for them.
The world is now filled with complete.... Ugh. I don't even want to type the words because it's so hard for me. Are the ignorant? In some cases, yes. Stupid? Sure. Violent? In many cases, yes. Incompetent! Absolutely. Uneducated. UNEDUCATED! And, most of all, AMORAL. No, Amoral, and Uneducated.
You might get a participation reward in school for getting a C in all your classes. You won't get a paycheck if you screw up 25% or more of the tasks you get assigned. But teacher's aren't allowed to be truthful with children in schools. Oh no! "Yous better NOT tells me kid they stupid! Uh-uh!" I laugh every time I hear that shit. Reality is, you're kid is one step from a flaccid amoeba. A single "brain" celled organism. LOL.
If parents could handle their own flaws and shortcomings being pointed out, maybe they would have the drive to do better. But they don't. It's two or three generations of completely incompetent and uneducated imbeciles, that are now coming of age.
Wonder why you can't receive a single fast food order correctly? Thank those parents who made sure "they darling angel" graduated with that 2.1 GPA. While you're at it, thank the politicians that empowered ignorant parents to decide what their children could and could not be taught in public schools. Thank the idiots who can't understand that, if you wanna teach your child the world is flat and it's okay to sleep with your first cousin, that's fine. We're not stepping on your freedoms, or telling you how to raise your child, but you're going to have to move to the foothills of Kentucky where that stuff is considered standard, and home school your crotch fruit because, we smart people, have different standards.
Of course I can't just point out all the atrocities with our current state of affairs, the current state of our education system, and all the shortcomings of an educational system that values individual "Karen-istic" beliefs over a highly educated and durable citizenry... so I'll make my own recommendations.
Weather the storm. Be vigilant. Stay safe. The ignorant, barely able to cope with their own hormones, less problems they will face when confronted with reality, freshly graduated citizenry, will not understand that they must learn from others mistakes, as history implores us to do. Prepare for the younger generation to completely muck things up, by trying resolutions to problems that have been tried and show true to fail over and over again. They will insist on mucking things up themselves, screaming "let me do it MY WAY!" or, the more common, "Let me make my own mistakes and learn!" Both of these can easily be avoided by giving your child a hand full of paper clip and showing them where the electrical sockets are, at an early age, but nobody seems to embrace Addams family values any more. They're much more willing to parent without your advice, allowing six year old children to bring a loaded hand guns to school... or edible THC gummies, Alcohol, Fentanyl, whatever it may be.
More advice. STAY HOME. Make sure your home is cinderblock construction. Casually suggest steel bookshelves and polycarbonate window treatments, to ensure that your family doesn't fall victim to the stray bullet, shot by either criminals or police in pursuit of those criminals. The fact that criminals get charged with any deaths caused by police officers while in pursuit of their capture, without consequence for the officers firing the bullets, puts things in a much more clearer picture.
If you must go out, go somewhere SAFE. Theme parks that require full body scans and metal detectors are a great place to go. Trust me, I know. If you have to go grocery shopping, go quickly. Keep your head low. Be courteous, be quiet. Be quick, be discreet, and get out. Don't loiter. Go about your business, and go home. That can be said for most people, in most places.
Next, prepare yourself, and your family by taking the first step. TEACH MORALS. Don't rely on the schools or the teachers, to teach your child right from wrong. Imbeciles and Repugnant Karens abound, upset that someone told their baby that their Vajayjay isn't Christ's litmus test for homosexuality, made sure that teachers can no longer educate, or even speak freely, on anything not typed out in text in a text book, and only those text books approved by their own political party and/or religious affiliation. You're going to have to put on your big boy/girl panties and step up to the plate. TEACH MORALS.
Teach your kids the difference between right and wrong. Teach them that patience and virtue, are qualities to be desired. Logical thought and intellect are valuable. Make sure they don't confuse healthy competition with the ideology that you need to "get yours" before everyone else, and that whatever you get, is OWED to you. Hard work is hard. Easy come, easy go. Protect what is yours, and leave others belongings ALONE. Teach your kids that THEFT and LYING will lead them to a life of crime.
People so outraged by these lying cheating politicians, don't even have the time to realize, they lie just as much, and cheat even more. If we, as a whole, as a true society, had morals... LYING in any official capacity, would be ILLEGAL. Any politician spouting lies would be reprimanded, fined, and censored. But, we have no morals. We allow liars and crooks to lead us, we allow tyrants and power hungry piss-ants to police us, and we teach our children that lying and thievery are just fine, as long as you don't get caught. Success is the only thing that matters, no matter how you come by it, no matter what you have to do to get it. You only live once, right?
That is the problem. Most of us, don;t get to live our full life, not even this once. The Amoral and Uneducated, take that from us, each and every day. But, we can fight back. We can change things. And it's really simple on how to do that. 1.) Don't be a sucker. Your job is not be teach other people how to be a valuable human being. Stop trying to be a savior. Teach your children, you don't have to share, you certainly should not borrow, and you keep your hands to yourself. 2.) Don't give anything to anyone who doesn't earn it. Stop giving your hard earned money to those who don't deserve it. They don't give a buck about you, why should you care about them? Earn what you make, keep what you earn. Work hard, and enjoy the fruits of your hard work. YOU, your family, not your neighbors, not your friends, not your co-workers. Showing off what you worked hard for, shows others that you have what they want - and invites thievery and crime. It's a proven fact that 95% of crime is comitted by someone you know, and someone who knows you have something. Eliminate crime. Keep your hard earnings to yourself and your family, and enjoy.
TEACH MORALS. Educate your children. Force them to consider complex social situations and ask them to think about the greater "good". Is it wrong that people from other countries want to come here to the United States? This is the American Dream after all. At a certain point, the government made immigrants out to be these evil people, because they failed to create a system that allowed for safe, responsible citizenship. Is it a good thing to put your family and friends in positions of great power within your company, simply because you want to help them out? Or might it better serve the company, if those positions were filled by the most qualified person, regardless of who they know, who they are related to, or how much money they pay you? Is it wrong for a person to have feelings like, gender dysphoria? What about the pharmaceutical companies and agricultural companies that have flooded our waters and land with growth hormones, and estrogen and mind altering substances? What about children born that have these issues? Who's fault is it? Or is it easier to simply say, we'll help in any way we can? These are all questions that require deep thought. Even better, a bit of proven history and experience. Teach HISTORY. Teach Moral History. Teach your children to learn from the mistakes that others have made throughout history, and teach them to be morally responsible, morally accountable, and educate them as much as humanly possible, for G.I. Joe once said, Knowing is half the...
If you know the answer, then you're on the right path. Take care and be safe.
