The most important Book

The perfect Book

By Sherry C.Published 5 years ago 3 min read

Grace reads about a writing contest that sparks her interest. She has always liked to write certain types of music to encourage people. This sounded like a really fun thing to do. She researched it a little, then started writing!

After Grace is finished, she submits her story to the proper place. She waits for approval, but unfortunately, it is not approved. It was rejected due to "religious content". Grace then tries to fix the story to suit their liking. Three times it is rejected. Grace cannot understand why, because some of the other stories look like they have "religious content" in them, but they are accepted. Grace hopes she isn't being discriminated against. After fixing everything, she cannot see where the problem is. Maybe others can. Grace just wants to be able to express herself as others do by using words! She is going to keep submitting her story because she really likes writing and thinks everyone should have the same opportunities!

Here is her story.

It is a cold morning in the North East. Grace wakes up with a headache like she does most mornings. She is anemic and sometimes does not drink enough water, so she gets out of bed and goes to her refrigerator to get a bottle of water. She needs to eat and drink something with iron. As she passes by her kitchen table, she sees her little black Book sitting there, waiting to be read. Usually, it is the first thing Grace reads, but today is different. Her doggie really needs to go out to do her business!

Grace has a little doggie that sleeps in her bedroom with her. When her little doggie hears her get out of bed, she follows her. She is waiting patiently for when she is going to be let out for her morning routine. Grace tells her that after she prepares her coffee, they will go for their normal usual walk. Grace gets the little doggies' leash and collar and goes walking with her in the field in the back of her house. The little doggie sees a strange animal she hasn't seen before. It is a porcupine! The little doggie barks profusely at the porcupine, who seems to not care who is around, it just keeps wandering around, ignoring the barks. Grace directs the little doggie back in the right direction to head back home, before getting needles all over her or the little doggie! As they are walking back to the house, a huge bird tries to swoop down to snatch the little doggie up! Thanks to the porcupine, the bird changes its mind when it sees the porcupine on the trail. The little doggie and the porcupine then give each other a high-five when Grace isn't looking. They don't want humans to know animals get along better than humans think!

As they enter the house, the little doggie runs over to the guinea pig cages and wants to play with them. Grace then takes the four guinea pigs out and puts them in their bigger cage for their daily. The little doggie then hops in their cage and seems to whisper something to them. Grace wonders what just happened, but since she doesn't understand guinea pig or doggie language she dismisses what she saw. A few minutes later, one of the guinea pigs makes a horrific noise, a noise that Grace hasn't heard before. Just then, one tries to escape out of the cage. While Grace goes to catch it, another one jumps out of the cage and runs to the door. Luckily, Grace catches it and puts it back in its original. She gathers the other three guinea pigs and puts them safely back in their cages also! Grace assumes the whisper from the little doggie was her telling them about the porcupine. Maybe they wanted to go out and meet it, but since people do not understand animals, Grace will never know what was communicated between them!

Grace sees her little Black book sitting on the Kitchen table. She has her coffee in her hand and an apple, so she is ready to read her little Black book. Grace really enjoys reading it. It contains a lot of important information that she wants to follow daily! Grace cannot wait until this evening. There is a get-together where she gets to bring her little Black book and open it up and read it with others. She also gets to sing and read some words out of the little Black book and share it with people who don't have access to the little Black book. She is so excited to go tonight! Hopefully, she can share the importance with others about the Most Important Little Book!!
