It was 1847 the leaves were beginning to bloom on the Yarrow trees that lined both sides of a long stretched roadway to the house. The grounds had lavish green rolling hills as far as you could see, our sheep were just making their way to our lake to drink and feed, there is probably over 100 sheep that roam freely on our property. The house was white with lite blue trim around all the doors and windows, I say it looks more like Aqua the color of the beautiful Caribbean waters. It has wrap around decks on the top and bottom levels of our home with 10 bedrooms all having French doors leading out onto them. It has Ivy climbing up the side of the house and along the upper and lower verandas with flowers in hanging baskets and planters every where. This is the most beautiful place in the spring and summers when everything is colorful, blooming and full of life and fragrances. We are a well to do family, money passed down from generation to generation which I will never understand how we make our money as all the men in this family are Inventors and not all of them have been successful, but the best thing about the Morrow men is that they always strive to move forward no matter how many times they fail. It’s one of the many things I love about my husband, how the Morrow men put it “ we never fail we just haven’t succeeded yet" always full of life, amazing adventures and exciting lasting family memories. We have five children ranging from ages 3 to 16 years. Two older boys, two younger boys and a girl in the middle. All are very bright and talented no matter what they do. Oooooh the imaginations on my littles I guess that’s the advantage of having a family of Inventors, its runs though their veins.
“ Marvelous”... I always say to my children when they come up with a grand new idea, invention or adventure. They are all home schooled and each one helps the next age below with their studies, they all like to get their school work done as fast as they can because they know as soon as their done they have the rest of the day to be free to invent, explore and go on great adventures using the grounds as their playground, it was like a secret passed down only to the Morrow bloodline, secret information that felt like you could take over the world well at least that’s what it felt like in a child’s world.
One day after the children’s studies they all ran outside they couldn’t wait to get started on their next adventure they all loved the theater and plays... especially Charlotte our only girl she was a free spirit fire in her soul but that’s expected from a beautiful red haired soul. Charlotte was 13 and will be married in a few years so she needs to find a man who can put up with her strong willed nature and talent, just like a Morrow woman should be, we stand tall and we are our own woman and the men agree with this.
Maxwell, our oldest son is 16, he will be 17 next month. Max has turned out to be such a caring thoughtful handsome young man and boy, does he look like his father and he loves his adventures. I don’t know any Morrow man or woman who doesn’t love a good mystery that comes with an adventure attached. Max is tall with dark hair and very handsome just like his father they always refer to him as the little version of Albert, Mr. Morrow. It doesn’t help that they have always been tied to the hip since max could walk, they are always coming up with grand new ideas together along with all the other Morrow children. All their eyes would light up as they spoke about their day sitting around the dinner table as a family. They speak about their day in the barn, tinkering and inventing, all the children love to help papa create, build and explore they use whatever is available and create many wonderful things with what’s around them. You see the Morrow family sees the world much differently than the others in the world. We are all dreamers and believers everyone creates something, I myself am a healer and I make energy healing medicine blankets from the wool of our sheep. It keeps me busy and grounded especially on the cold winter days and nights or the long summer days that never seem to end. I sell them at the local farmers market every summer, I always sell out and get orders from the town folk in the other seasons.
Theodore or Theo he likes to be called is our second eldest he is also tall and lean like his older brother Max, but he looks more like me his beautiful mother with auburn hair and high cheek bones and as handsome as the rest of them.
Miles and Edgar are our two youngest boys, both such a joy of energy and inspiration for us all. They are always eager to lend a hand to anyone and everyone, their favorite thing to do next to tinker and create with their dad, they love tending to my beloved and cherished sheep, that give me their wool every year too create my healing medicine blankets. Our sheep look out for us as much as we protect them, my dear sweet sheep always let me know if the littles are up to mischief or if a stranger has entered the property it’s the cutest thing.
Now this brings us to how we found the families secret black book that has been passed down from generation to generation to generation, this book only surfaces to those who find it on their own and will only make itself known to a Morrow bloodline, a book filled with detailed information and drawings for hundreds of inventions that will work and make the Morrow family a lot of money, enough money to last the next Morrow generation to come. One of the secrets, to keep the book a secret, and to keep the family fortune going... the one who finds it has to add to it and than, when the time comes, they need to hide it on the property for the Next Morrow bloodline to come and find it, never to reveal where its been hidden. This is how we keep our fortune, our property and our name as Inventors.
This is the mystery to our families money and the secret to our families little black book, the book will be hidden once again, when all the Morrow's who found the book have added their invention or part too.
