T H E H E A R T O F S T O N E ! ! !

When I met this guy, called Lucky. I thought he was the right spouse meant for me.
I fell in love with him just a short period we met, his handsomeness made me lost my senses, he confessed to me how much he truly loved me and ever ready to spend the rest of his life with me,

"Cynthia, marry me and I will make your life sweeter than the honey. I will give to you everything that body and soul need."

He said, his eyes fixed and shining into mine. I was shy to utter a word, I just released a forcing smile.
He grabbed my hands. Robbing it softly.
He once told me he wanted to further his education but he couldn't fulfill the dream due to some financial problem. I felt very pity when he told me this, tears cascaded down his cheek. I had to use my palm to wipe away the tears in his eyes, the love I have for him was unconditional, even in the situation that I met him I was still very interested in him.

To take him by surprise, I decided to let him know that I will take the responsibility by sponsoring his education.
Even when I knew I also came from a poor background, thus I never thought about my education but all I could think of was to sponsor someone who in the sack of love promise to marry me and then make my life sweeter than the honey.

As his name implies, Lucky, although he was a Lucky guy.
When I break the news to him, he thought I was joking or beating around the bush.

"I don't believe you, where on Earth did you get the money from to sponsor my education? Did you think going to school is a child's play? " He said to me. But all I could do is to smile, well, I was managing a little business, I started the business with a small capital which I was able to save when I was working for a company. I wisely used the money to invest it in a business. It was a provision store, and by God's grace, the business was flourishing.

I told him I will use the money from my business to train him so that when he graduates and secure a good job, he will establish a big business for me.

When he discovered that I was not joking, he knees down in my presence and begins to rain blessings on me. His eyes were filled with joy, the tears of joy run down his cheek in rivulets, it was uncontrollable as the tears keep dripping down.

"God will give you more customers, and you will find favor in the hand of God. Thank you so much, love!'' He said.
I told him to get prepared to enroll for jamb.
He enrolled for the jamb, which I paid for. He came out successfully.

Later on, Lucky gained admission into the university of Enugu to read Accounting. I was happy for him, and he was happy too. I gave him full assurance that I will do all the impossibility and possibility to make sure I see him through.

He was glad the more when he left for his studies. He assured me everything will be fine as soon as he graduates and secures a better job. I was hopeful that he will not disappoint me, I was hopeful that he is going to stand by my side when trials arise.

Over the years, I have been the only person paying for his fees till his final year. He graduated and came out in flying colors, then he proceeded to his One Year NYSC Scheme.

When he finished his NYSC scheme.
He wrote application letters to different companies and banks, he had sought out jobs everywhere. But all to no avail, he couldn't get any job. He was now feeding on my business, depending on my business, etc.
My business in other words begin to shambles, it was running down gradually.

One-day, a call hit his phone. He picked and it was a bank where he had submitted his application three months ago, the manager had called him to inform him of job appointment. He was glad as he went for the appointment. He was given a job, to work as an accountant.
His salary was a huge one. His salary could make one rich in just two years. I was happy for him, I knew my labor and bountiful sacrifice which I render to him will automatically come back to me in double.

But unfairly to me, he kicked me off and took another woman. This was the most painful downfall of my life, I wanted to commit suicide, I wanted to murder myself and just leave this wicked world for wicked people. Lucky succeeded in breaking my heart into pieces. And my business collapsed, he ran for another woman.

I cursed the sun for the day I was born. And leave the rest in the hands of God.
It was not too long when I saw a notice board on the road. It was a new marketing firm looking for the people that will run their business with expert ideas, all field of qualifications were acceptable, it doesn't matter if you are a graduate or not.

In as much, you have good business experience and ideas. I quickly wrote an application and submit to the firm.
During my interview, I told them I was good in business and that I have led a successful business for the past six years. I also told them the reason for the downfall of my business.
After confirming my reports to be a hundred percent, I was offered a full-time job.

I work there for five years, my director saw how I have managed the business to become a successful business. He decided to employ me as a manager, he asked me to engage in part-time school. He paid for my school fees, I was studying Business Management at the University of Nigeria, Nsuka as a part-time student.

When I graduated, I bagged a first-class degree and also emerged as one of the best part-time students of the year.

My Director took me by surprise when he showed me a place where he had established a very big business for me. He told me that I owned the company, documents and agreement were signed by his Lawyer. He hands the key to me, and to further appreciate my efforts, he surprised me with a brawn new car.

I became a successful businesswoman again, my business went viral. To glorify the name of God, I was known all corners of the Earth. Though I owe my boss a big thanks for making me become who I am today, he brought hope into my life and made my dream come to pass. Also to God who located me to my helper, Mr. Jackson.

One day, I was shocked when Lucky came to my office, my security agent came to report to me that I have a visitor. I allowed my security agent to let him in. When he walked into my office, his eyes were filled with tears, he came to ask for forgiveness, he was ignorant of his foolish mistakes over the years. He had gotten back his senses, he told me his sad tales, after he had lost everything including his job, all in the hands of the girl he wanted to get married to.

I felt pity and very sorry for him, though he deserves it because it is what he planted that he sowed.

I forgive him but he learned his lessons. If God himself can forgive us our sins, then who are we not to forgive. We sin every day, and God always has compassion for us every day. I let go of the past and focused on the future. Because God knows the reason why it happened, but I never intend to marry such a heart of stone man, after paying him with a heart of gold and silver, he paid me back with heart of stone.

Why do I share this heartbroken story?
Because In life, we are so foolish enough that we always forget those who struggled to see us through and make us a better somebody.
The people who lay a ladder for us to climb to the height of our achievement.

Some hearts of men are like stone, some are filled with wickedness, grudges, the heart of betrayal like Judas Iscariot, venom and poisonous.

Don't forget that, God is always watching, he is not asleep.

Let's model our hearts like gold and silver. Life always has a way to pay back evil with evil, and good with good.
