The Forgotten Garden

The Unraveling of a Family's Dark Secrets

By Muhammad Nehroz AliPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Once upon a time, in a far-off land, there was a garden that had been long forgotten. It had once been a place of beauty and enchantment, with vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and trickling fountains. But over the years, it had been abandoned and left to wither away until it became nothing more than a tangle of weeds and thorns. No one knew the story of the garden or why it had been left to decay. But one day, a young woman named Sarah stumbled upon the garden while wandering through the countryside.

Sarah was a traveler and an adventurer. She had always been curious about the world and had a particular love for gardens. When she saw the garden, she was instantly drawn to it. Something about the garden called to her, as if it held a secret waiting to be uncovered.

Determined to unravel the mystery of the forgotten garden, Sarah spent every spare moment exploring its winding paths and hidden corners. She searched for clues, but all she found were remnants of the garden's former glory: broken statues, rusted fountains, and crumbling stone walls.

One day, as Sarah was wandering through the garden, she noticed a small piece of paper fluttering in the breeze. She reached out and caught it, unfolding it carefully. To her surprise, the paper contained a cryptic message, written in an elegant hand:

"Only by following the path of the forgotten garden can you unlock the secrets of the past. But be warned: the truth you seek may be darker than you ever imagined."

Sarah's heart raced as she read the message. What secrets lay hidden in the forgotten garden? And who had left the message for her to find?

Determined to uncover the truth, Sarah continued her search, following the garden's winding paths deeper and deeper into its heart. And then, one day, she stumbled upon a hidden door, concealed behind a wall of ivy.

Without hesitation, Sarah pushed open the door and stepped into a hidden chamber, lit only by the flickering light of a single candle. The room was filled with old books, dusty tomes, and yellowed parchments. And in the center of the room, there was a small wooden box, bound with iron chains.

Sarah's heart pounded as she approached the box, her fingers trembling as she reached out to touch it. As she lifted the lid, a flood of memories rushed back to her, memories of a family long forgotten, of love and loss, of betrayal and redemption.

For within the box lay the true story of the forgotten garden, a story of a family torn apart by secrets and lies, a story of a love that was lost and then found again, and a story of a garden that was once forgotten but would never be forgotten again.

The story told of a wealthy family who had once lived in a grand estate next to the garden. The patriarch of the family, a wealthy merchant named Edward, had built the garden as a tribute to his beloved wife, who had died young. But as time passed, the family began to unravel, torn apart by greed and jealousy.

One of Edward's sons, William, had fallen in love with a beautiful young woman named Charlotte, who had been hired to care for the garden. But William's brother, James, was also in love with Charlotte and became consumed by jealousy when he realized that William had won her heart.

James began to plot against his brother, spreading lies and rumors about him to their father. Edward, who had always favored James, became convinced that William was trying to steal his fortune and cut him out of the family estate. In a fit of rage, he disowned William and banished him from the estate, leaving him destitute and alone.

But William was not alone for long. Charlotte
