What would you do if your family life was more organized than it is now? Can work-life balance be achieved? What tools are available to us? Can scheduling appointments and leaving them at home help us save time and set priorities? What are the challenges we face? Sometimes I find that the time spent at home can be the busiest time, especially in the times we live in. Imagine someone working from home, homeschooling their kids, and sometimes even having a side hustle. Imagine someone working at home full-time. How do they manage to get everything that needs to be done in one day? We live in an age where many entrepreneurs and even corporate employees have adopted a work-from-home culture. This also presents challenges as the lines between home and work blur. These blurred boundaries and constraints on a finite resource called time lead to overworked, underrested, burnt out individuals. While good time management is encouraged, and indeed embraced, in the workplace, I think more needs to be done to change the mindset to achieve that elusive work-life balance. What tools are available to us? There are many interventions that can be used to effectively manage time at home, including setting goals for the day, prioritizing wisely, setting time limits for each task, self-organization, and developing dating discipline. Yes, make an appointment at home! We can spend time discussing the pros and cons of each intervention, however, I think we need to focus on appointments and see how this can powerfully change the course of the day, whether it's a weekday or a weekend. Life is busy without any interruptions. The question is what do you do with the person announcing they are at the door. These people can be friends, neighbors, or salesmen for certain products that you don't even need. I'm not advocating the organization here, but a culture where "what fills your day" matters. Everything we succeed is because we plan and execute it carefully. I firmly believe that if you don't manage yourself, you Can't manage time, so I implore you to put planning and appointments into your repertoire. I'm not talking about things I don't do. I have to get a lot done in a day, so I set a schedule for my work, others and myself Dating. Can scheduling appointments and keeping them at home helps us save time and set priorities? You need to make an appointment with yourself, and your spouse needs to make time for each other. Parents need to schedule time to spend with their children. When you have some order in your life, you decide who can see you and who you can see. It also means your relationships will be healthy, which will make you a happier human being. In conclusion, I believe work-life balance is achievable. Just like in the workplace, we have many tools at our disposal. I believe we can accomplish more and be happier if we are disciplined enough to only make commitments that we can keep.
