Mount Rushmore and My Experience as an Autograph Stalker
I’m a collector. I collect things. Superhero things, sports memorabilia, Louis L’Amour books to name a few, but the main thing I collect is autographs. I have probably close to three hundred in my collection and I have painstakingly put the vast majority of them in frames and hung them on the walls of my house. I would like to say that my collection was one day going to be the largest contributor to my retirement fund but sadly that is not the case. In fact, I used to call it my wall of semi-quasi-famous people I had met. You know, back when there weren’t a lot of extremely famous signatures on it and back when it was just one wall.

Mama, What does...?
My husband, Jim, was diagnosed with throat cancer. He lost his ability to speak just three months prior to our wedding. I never really ever heard his natural speaking voice. I brought five children to our relationship. All teenagers; four daughters and a son. He had no children and had never been married before. Jim was a wonderful muscian. Our battle with his cancer became a family mission of survival. As the months became years, we became champions in finding versatile ways of combating the obstacles of teen rebellions, high school, middle school, absent parents, chemo therapy, radiation sickness, surgeries, and infections.

Excommunication of the Self...
Originally written by Olivia Petrus. Oct. 7th, 2007. I stared out the car window at the green open fields enveloped in the early Sunday morning light. The car moved slowly up and down the hilly road that led us past the Illinois countryside. I noticed the birds soaring freely in the blue skies and watched the cows graze, while the horses galloped in and out of the stereotypical barns littered across that Middle-of-Nowhere Town.

How to Plan a Beach Trip with Kids
A family outing to the beach is one to be looked forward to. It is also a trip that most parents have to plan for. Well, for starters, you’ve got to deal with loads of sand, the occasional toddler trying to eat sand, and all that sand you trek back to your hotel room. But the beach is also loads of fun; thus, outweighing the negative. And so, to have the best family seaside escapade, here’s how to plan a beach trip with kids.

My Daughter and her Mother Addicts Both
After a year and a half of unanswered emails/entreaties/pleas to my 22-year-old daughter. I received the long-awaited reply. She had been working 10 hours per day in an $8-per-hour. No benefits fast-food job to finagle time with co-workers so she could visit me. She had never traveled overseas by herself. I booked a route with the fewest connections and layovers possible. I cashed out my last bit of savings from a 401k savings plan to pay for the trip. Soon, my precious daughter and I reunited.

#vanlife - Choosing to be Homeless
homelessness. The first time I thought of thw word was on Cape Cod when a woman in Brewster called me homeless. After putting over 6 grand and later another two weeks of loving and living with a family that burnt, as my living situations with others do, in the flames of my trust issues getting in the way and not being respected.. and then hit with a tsunami of cold destruction on my end to seal the deal on who can be the meanest.

Franklin Cider Mill
The Franklin Cider Mill, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. In my line of business, between running a family owned and operated business in Florida and trying to work on no less than six novels at the same time and various short stories, I find myself with little time to do anything else.
