parents
The boundless love a parent has for their child is matched only by their capacity to embarrass them.
Why Your Mom Is the Only Valentine You Need
I know Valentine's Day is over, but it comes back every year with the same memes in a rotation that make some people laugh while others feel miserable about being single. Why do we feel miserable about being single on that one particular day more than ever? Because we see everyone around us being extra and showing love to their partners on that one day of the year instead of all year round? And honestly, let's face it, more than half those people celebrate the day just so they have something to post about. Most of them probably end up arguing about something or the other that night—whether it's about the choice of the restaurant or a surprise that failed to meet expectations.

Lost Voice
I was very shy growing up. I had a hard time making friends on the playground, I had a hard time talking to others or even making eye contact. I struggled with associating myself with another human being. I didn't know how to communicate, I didn't know how to speak and live in a calm state. All I have ever known was anger and violence.

Toddlers and Tantrums (Pt. 2.5)
Being a parent is hard. Being a parent with mental illnesses is even more difficult. There are days where I just want to lay in bed all day and just try to sleep away the depression. But that isn't how it happens. It's never how it happens.

The Philosopher's Bread
This a short tale I felt compelled to share with my wonderful readers. I hope you enjoy it! ~.~.~.~.~.~ Once upon a time, long ago, there lived a man who baked beautiful, golden bread. Rolls, loaves, muffins, cookies... any bread you dreamed of he could create, and the people of his village cherished his delicious baking. Every week, he would come up with a new recipe, and they would all eagerly wait for its delivery. They would all agree that he made the finest, most delicious baked goods they could ever ask for. But there was so much more to this man than the bread he could make.

An Open Letter to My Father
When I was a young girl you came to all of my basketball games. Even though you were required to travel for work, you always made sure you were there. No matter what. You cheered from the bleachers even if we lost. You were always my biggest fan.

I Want My Mommy
It's been a solid year since I've seen my birth mother. If you've read my story Broken Promises, you would understand why. We've spoken over the phone, via text, all conversations lasting no more than one to five minutes. During the holidays, it was difficult, not knowing what to do. I've only just gotten to a place where I can speak to her as acquaintances and not have it affect me in a negative way all day.

3 Lessons I Learned About Parenting After Watching 'Beautiful Boy'
Beautiful Boy was released this past year and it is simultaneously difficult and crucial for parents to watch. If you haven’t seen it, let me sum it up before we start. The movie centers around the relationship of father, David, and son, Nic, played by Steve Carrell and Timothee Chalamet, respectively. The story takes a look at the family dynamic as Nic tries to recover yet again from his methamphetamine addiction.
