fact or fiction
Is it fact or merely fiction? Fact or Fiction explores the myths and beliefs we hold about our family dynamics, traditions, and if there's such thing as a 'perfect family.'
Walking to the 21st Century
________________________________________ It’s the first day of summer vacation. It’s 6 a.m. and I’m wide-awake, alert and eager to get started. My sisters are all snuggled down in their bed enjoying their leisure with a long sleep-in.

WHO DESTROYED THE MALL
The murderer is here, not too far away of the houses where people live. He is hidden somewhere. In the courtyard, there is a bunch of people who live in the same apartment unit. A lot of complaints and reports were made by people who live in the courtyard Simons Street, 12th. This courtyard was the most notorious courtyard for the number of crimes that ocurred there.

Exactly What We Need
It is a frigid January morn, not unlike those of winters past. The land was blanketed in a fresh coat of glistening crystal while snow. Snow so white, so fresh, so deep and so cold. The air is fresh and crisp, a deep breath may cause a cough or two. Few animals dare to come out to play or forage for food today. However, there is a coup of young small squirrels playing in the distance. The occasional chirp from the birds in the trees. Not many though, not many. For this January morn, the temperature is well below zero. Nine O'clock A.M. and still below zero? Why this is unheard of, what is going on in the Universe today? There is something strange and exciting about this day that lie ahead.

Karli Knows Things (Part 1)
Karli Knows Things – Part 1 ©March 2021 Robert W. F. Taylor By any standards, Karli was a typical teenager, struggling to find herself and discover who she really was amid a hoard of other teens trying to sort out their lives as well. She dealt with the pressures of her age group in a positive way, determined not to let them get her down. “I try not to spend too much time in my head,” she said one day. “It can get to depressing and I hate being depressed. I just let things happen and deal with them as they happen.”

The Journey Continues
Creaky wooden floorboards kick up years of dust with each step. Combined with a moth ball laden, musty smell, they trigger a flurry of memories. It was only months ago he reminisced with her about being in that very spot decades prior. If only he’d known it was the last time they would speak before it happened...

A Final Resting Place
I sat on the edge of the bare mattress, feeling the friction of its scratchy surface tug ever so slightly on the fabric of my dress. This bed is where I first made love to my first and only love. On this bed, we laughed and sang, whispered and caressed, jumped and cried. It was the last piece of furniture that would be taken from our home, our sanctuary. We once stayed awake with our bodies entangled as we marveled at the hues of the sunrise, and spoke of this bed with its four posts and canopy as the center of our home and of our love. But now, it would be just a culmination of our memories – the last of which is an image of me, clinging to him, resting my head atop his chest as it fell for the last time.
