It was a hot summer day, and my family had traveled to the coast and we decided to go for a swim at the beach. The water was crystal clear and inviting, and the sun was shining bright in the sky. I had always loved swimming and spending time in the water, so I was excited to jump in and cool off.

As I waded in, I noticed that the current was quite strong, and the waves were bigger than I had anticipated. But I didn't think much of it at the time, as I had been swimming for years and was confident in my abilities. I began to swim out towards deeper water, feeling the coolness of the water enveloping me as I moved further out. However, as I went farther out, the current became stronger, and the waves started to get more intense. Before I knew it, I was caught in a rip current,I tried to stand assuming the depth was shallow enough but in vain and I was struggling to stay afloat. Panic started to set in as I realized I was in trouble, and I began to feel my breath getting shorter and shorter.

I tried to swim back towards shore, but the current was too strong, and I felt myself getting pulled further out to sea. I knew I had to do something to conserve my energy and stay afloat, so I decided to hold my breath and float on my back. I closed my eyes and concentrated on slowing my breathing, focusing on each inhale and exhale. I tried to stay calm and conserve my energy, all the while feeling the powerful forces of the ocean moving beneath me. Time seemed to stand still as I lay there, my lungs burning with the need for air. But I refused to give up, and I kept holding on, even as my vision started to blur and my body began to feel weak.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the current began to ease up, and I felt myself being pulled back towards the shore. I opened my eyes and saw the bright blue sky overhead, and I knew I was going to make it.My God had come through for me for sure. As I reached the shore, I collapsed onto the sand, gasping for air and feeling the rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins. My family rushed over to me, and I felt their warm embrace as they hugged me tightly, relieved that I was safe. That moment of holding my breath and fighting for survival had a profound impact on me. It made me realize how precious life is and how quickly things can change. It also taught me the importance of staying calm under pressure and trusting in my own abilities. From that moment on, I developed a deep respect for the ocean and its power. I also learned the importance of always being prepared for the unexpected and never taking anything for granted.

That breath-holding moment may have been just a small part of my life, and while the experience can be traumatic and challenging, its impact has stayed with me ever since. It can compare it to a natural disaster where which brings out the best in people later after all is done, I learnt to appreciate the simple things in life, such as family, friends, and a safe place to call home, It taught me valuable lessons about strength, resilience, and the power of the human spirit, and above all..to put my trust to the most high God who is a miracle worker, promise keeper, mountain mover and light in the darkness.
