Stormy Night

By Alina Williams

By Alina WilliamsPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

It was a dark and stormy night, the clouds covered the sky and the stars making it difficult to navigate and know which direction we are going in. As the clouds grew darker and ominous, the thunder started to boom across the dark skies and lightning followed behind it. After a short moment it started to rain, I started to have an uneasy feeling so I ran to my mother that was in our cabin that we were staying in and hugged her.

"my darling what is the matter" mother replied in worry.

" I fell uneasy about the storm mom" I tell her shaking like there's no tomorrow and to anxious to let go. She laughs and said

"my child its only a storm, it will pass soon so there's nothing to worry about", reassuring me while she hugged me back tighter. But little did we know that the storm is only the beginning and the worst is yet to come. As the night grew longer, the storm rocking the ship back and forth my mother tucked me bed and I fell asleep fast.

I wake up gasping for air as the thunder startled me, I jump out of bed and run to were my mother was sleeping. She was not in her bed so I started to get scared, I hear footsteps in the hall and the door opens to our cabin. I turn around to see my mother in shock, she grabs my arm and drags me out of the room in a rush.

"Ow! mom were are we going, what's going on". I yelled before I realized what was happening, she turns around and hugged me pressing us against the wall for support. A huge wave crashes against us once, twice, more then I could count. Gasping for air after another wave crashes against us I feel my mothers grip letting loose and she lets go of me as another wave crashes against us and carries us over bored and strait in to the sea.

Rising up to the surface of the sea I loose my mother and loose the sight of ship. Panicking I yell for my mother over and over again and there is no answer. As I keep yelling for help I still don't have a response from anyone and I start to get tired from the waves crashing over me and treading to stay a float in the water.

It felt like a life time before someone grabs me by my scuff and pulls me out of the water. I realize that it was the crew from my ship but still no sign of my mother. "Were is my mom" I said gasping for air as I tried to catch my breath.

"I'm sorry miss but we couldn't find her, but were happy we found you before anything else happened". one of the crew said. I start to panic and get anxious. "Hold on to the boat everyone" I hear one of the men yell and I see a huge wave crashing over us and tilts our boat over.

"Not again", I though to my self wishing for this nightmare to end already. I try to swim to the surface once more to get some air, but before I could get a chance to do that, something hits me in the back and my vision starts to get blurry and I start to pass out.
