The Nightmare of Reality

Prologue-As all the magic was erased by the darkness , seven rainbow colored animals spirits stepped up knowing the consequences. They trapped the darkness in a book of nightmares and the spirits trapped themselves as well, hoping someone would find the book of dreams, imprisoning them and setting them free.

Chapter 1 Dear Diary,

A little glue here, and tape there.

Alex was trying his hardest to win the science fair because of the fifty dollar prize.But so far, no one came to his stall to see it. Maybe because is wasn’t very nice, or that his spot was at the back of the gym, but then he was called to the front office. He expected nothing much but a simple chat, but instead of that, he was told he was behind on payment and had not paid for the tutoring lessons. His heart felt like it was breaking into a million pieces!He exclaimed” I just need one month please Mrs.Auttum!” She refused and said” You said that last month and you never paid us. I’m sorry to say that if you don’t have enough money by next Friday, then we will have to kick you out!” Alex bursted out of the room in tears and ran into the streets to go to the feelings alley. But when he got there found $666 dollars and a black book.

Chapter 2 Not a Notebook

Tears and a smile formed on his face. Then the book opened up to the first page with a note saying “Possibilities are endless just like you”. Then his hair turned white and had streaks of all the colors of a rainbow and his eyes turned a pastel purple and teal. He was In shock and decided to write something in the book,” A stress ball would really help”. “Ouch! Who was that!” Alex shouted, but then he realized a stress ball fell on his head!Then he wrote”What time Is it?”.The book wrote ”It’s six-fifteen Alex, and if you really want to know at all times we’ll just give you a watch.” After that he picked up the book and took it home, at sat down at the garbage bag. He said”I wish I knew my parents, maybe everything would be different.” Then a blue unicorn popped out of the book and said “ No, things would still be the same. Alex you have the book of dreams, but out there…” She paused and took a deep breath.”Someone has the book of nightmares”. Then she flew back inside the book and disappeared. He went to bed a little while after the unicorn left, but when he woke up he noticed he was sleeping on clouds! Everything was ready for him, but would everyone at school be?

Chapter 3 Ready, Set, Oh no!

As soon as Alex got to school, he paid the principal the money he had to. The principal was shocked about how he go the money, but then helped everyone with their troubles at the front office again. Then one he got in, everyone looked like they saw a ghost, so many whispers started to spread “How do he get the hair color?What about the eyes?where did he get the money?”. Alex could not pass by a single hallway without being stared at. Once he finally got to class, he was told to share what he did to his hair and eyes.Then a white arctic fox appeared but only he could see it.The arctic fox said “Don’t tell them about the magic, remember, anyone I mean anyone, could have the book of nightmares.” Soon enough, it just zipped back into the book. Alex announced ” I don’t want to explain, everyone has been bothering me today about how I look”. The teacher looked disappointed but she understood. “Ok class, today we will learn about cross linking polymers”. But Alex new this might be a distraction from the real thing.

Chapter 4 A Detour

Everyone headed to the science lab but the book started glowing and a green snake came out and said ” I sssenssse sssomething that hasss dark magic, be careful Alexxxx.” The last student to go to the science room was new and his name was also Alex. Suddenly, a black smoke appeared and dragon wings appeared on him and got black hair. Then he said” This is evil, Artiste speaking, do all the evil spirits read me?” A deep voice responded “Yes but is Artiste here?” then evil Artiste said ” Let’s talk In person, so Artiste doesn’t hear us, ok?” After that Evil artiste disappeared and the black book started glowing. A purple wolf came out of the book and said,”We’re following them if you like it or not, also by the way, all of us spirts know your true name, Artiste Painter.” Alex decided he would now be referred as Artiste.

Chapter 5 The Obsidian Castle

Once Artiste got to the castle he overheard evil Artiste saying ”Now that Artiste is gone, I will use the book of nightmares to open a portal from this world to the human world”. As soon as the last words were said, a chiming sound echoed through that castle and a paintbrush floated down to Evil Artiste. Then Artiste had a paintbrush floating down to him. He said ”We have to stop him! But how?”. After that, he quickly wrote in the book,”Where is Evil Artiste?” The response was”He is going to the top of the castle, but hurry, it won’t be long until he uses the book and the paintbrush!” Artiste asked if a spirit could come out to help. His wish was granted and an orange Phoenix flew down to see him.”Quick, get on my back and I’ll fly you to the top of the palace, since you can’t access your wings yet. Alex asked ” how do I sprout them?” The response was a bit rude ”You will learn when you’re ready, and that time is not now”. Right after that, Evil Artiste appeared in front of them and said ”well I admire you determination to defeat me, and your successful attempt of getting in, but you will never get out of my maze!”.

Chapter 6 The Maze of Shadows

Artiste was stuck in the maze and all seemed lost, the phoenix wasn’t helpful and said ” Whelp, I was just going to fly you to the roof, but now I can’t so goodbye!” Artiste noticed that the maze walls were cracking, but then he noticed it wasn’t the walls, a wormhole opened up and toys started falling in! If Evil Artiste wasn’t stopped, the Earth and maybe the whole world would be sucked Into this world of magic! A red glow suddenly appeared and a red butterfly said “It has begun, portals are opening and Evil Artiste will succeed. You must hurry!Go to the last page of the book, only you can access it and use the spell there!” Artiste flipped to the last page and recited the spell ”Even when there is no light, a spark can make everything a glow”. The book glowed and all the creatures came out and sent a rainbow shooting out. A yellow bee said “Hop on the rainbow! go! It won’t be long until the Earth is consumed!”.

Chapter 7 The Last Act

When Artiste arrived on the roof, Evil artiste said ”Well well, you escaped the maze, but this Is one story no one will write a happy ending to, and you won’t get in my way!” . Evil Artiste sent a blast and the rainbow faded away and more portals opened up and real people fell through the portal. “IIsn’t It a wonderful sight? Taking over the world while everyone Is helpless and can’t stop you?” Artiste said ”Why are you doing this? No one ever did anything” The reply was “NO ONE EVER LISTEN TO ME! THIS IS MY REVENGE TO EVERYONE!” Artiste said ”Revenge won’t help!I know you want a friend and I can help you!I want to be your friend!” The response felt like sad and gloomy ”Because of what I am! But would you really be my friend? Even after you created me by making an evil twin and I wen’t against you?” After that last word everything went away and Evil Artiste was the only dark spirit left. He said”Thank you Artiste, here is something that belongs to you.A palette knife that only you can use”. Evil Artist then disappeared and left a note that said that he would not do anything that could harm others and he would remain hidden for a while.

Chapter 8 The Curtain Call

After that, the black book merged with the book of nightmares and then merged once more with Artiste’s paintbrush. Suddenly, the purple wolf jumped out and said “thank you for freeing me Artiste, now I am free and I will rule the wolf kingdom and not you!” Artiste felt backstabbed and the red butterfly died but then a red and black glowed flew down and said,” Artiste, I’m your sister and we gotta stop ShadowWolfy from taking your kingdom!”He replied”I know! But can I at least send everyone back to their world?I will make them forget me and the magic of course!”His sister said yes and mentioned that their parents gave them simple names like Artiste and Devil.Every human forget everything and he could finally relax, for a bit…Then he went to the kingdom of the wolves.

Prologue

“Finally I’ve made it to the castle!Now all wolves will bow to me!”ShadowWolfy Exclaimed.He new that Artiste would catch up sooner or later but first, he need to get what he lost many years ago…The Corrupted Amethyst that held all his powers, now he just need to make the crown.

Note: This is my Son's story. He (Samuel) got excited with the Moleskine and Vocal contest. He wrote it on his own, we only performed a spelling check. He is too young according to the contest's rules, but he got so excited and started writing for many hours. Hope you like the story.
