I remember a certain moment in my life that set off the course of my life, of course I’m not where I want to be just yet but I’m on my way. After all, life is a journey and one should enjoy the ride.
The best days I have had were days spent with my twin my mother, my older sister, my aunts and uncle, a house filled with love and laughter and beautiful moments.
When I was 7 I already knew I wanted to be an entertainer, to be fair I knew way before then, for as long as I can remember I wanted to laugh and make others laugh as well, I wanted to put a smile on peoples faces and make them forget the bad. My mother always encouraged me to be the best at anything I do to know that I can be whoever or whatever I wanted to be , that the world is my oyster and most importantly to be confident. I am confident young woman today and that is all because of my mother.
This specific memory is one I will never forget because it shaped one of my earliest memory of performing. My twin and I decided that we were going to have a show and of course we were going to sell tickets to everyone at home, lol my mother made sure that not only did everyone get the ticket everyone was going to attend the show.
At 10 in the morning everyone at home gathered in our bedroom for the show. The show was a two man act, my twin and I had a fashion show, an art exhibition and a drama. At that moment with my mum cheering us on as well as the other members of my family I knew then without the shadow of a doubt that I was meant to be on stage, I was meant to be an entertainer, I was meant to shine. It probably sounds like I’m a self centered egomaniac, but I promise that is not the case, it’s just a case of if you know you know.
Since then I have tried to pursue a career in the entertainment industry from drama clubs, to skits, to making silly tiktok videos, anytime I was in front of a crowd, on a stage, or in front of a camera, I remember the moment that started it all, the moment I knew without a shadow of a doubt that being a performer was, is and will always be my dream. The truth is I don’t know if it will ever work out, if I will ever make it on screen, if my mum will ever get to watch me on tv ? What I do know is this I won’t give up, I will continue to try and on days when I feel down, when I feel deafeated I will remember that beautiful morning in my bedroom with my sister when our family made us feel that they we were the best in the world, that we could do anything, be anything simply because we wanted it badly enough.
In conclusion, passing moments are an integral part of our lives, and they play a crucial role in shaping our experiences and memories. While some moments may seem insignificant at the time, they can hold great significance in hindsight. Whether it's a small gesture of kindness, a fleeting moment of joy, or a bittersweet goodbye, each passing moment leaves its mark on our lives in some way. Therefore, it's essential to cherish and appreciate each passing moment, as they contribute to our personal growth, happiness, and sense of connection with others. By being present in the moment and fully immersing ourselves in our experiences, we can make the most of every passing moment and create meaningful memories that last a lifetime.
