A hero is defined as a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or their noble qualities. Most everyone, if not everyone has a hero, whether it be a family member, famous celebrity, or some random person you admire a whole lot. My Hero doesn’t have super power’s or a cape, rather she is a strong and courageous woman who has always been there for me, My Tennessee Hero is my beautiful mom, Melinda Keen.

Since day one my mom has been there for me right by my side always giving me the motherly love, support and guidance I needed to make it through the rough challenges life can throw at you. My mom always pushed me to be the best me I Could be, even if I did not want to be at the time. My mom is my daily motivation to keep smiling and pushing harder through all the negative set backs and challenges I’m faced with throughout this lifetime. It has been such a comfort in my life to know that my mom has always been there for me and had my back through everything possible

My mom has dealt with the disasters I have made and she has seen me grow up making mistakes. Yet, some how she always manages to find it within herself to love me more, and stay close to me. My mom is my rock and my everything and without the love and support of my mom, I do not think I would have turned into this strong and courageous woman I have turned out to be.

All through my school years I can remember my mom working two jobs just so I could have nice thing’s and attend all my extra curricular activities when I went to school. My Mom always made it a point to show up and be involved my cheerleading and dancing events no matter how busy her life was, she put her life on hold for mine anytime.

I am so proud and grateful to have been blessed with being your daughter you have always gave me the best life possible even when it seemed so far out of reach. My mom gives me a reason and the motivation I need to get up and go try to be a better me each and every day. I am not one who shows my feeling’s a whole lot to anyone, but I do want my mom to understand how much she means to me and how thankful I am to have her as my mom, I could not have asked for a better mom than she has/is to me.

I am 34 years old and I still run to my mom if I am having a bad day or if I need her for good advice on a bad situation that I have gotten myself into. She is always there to help me make it through any rough challenges that life throw’s at me and to remind me that I will make it through the rough no matter how hard the situation is or will be.

Just recently my mom experienced the hardship of my dad being incarcerated, so for the first time in 36 years my mom is having to do everything alone and without the help of my dad. No matter how sad she is my mom gets up and puts a smile on her face every morning and continues to be the Wonder Woman I know she is inside and out. You are my everything and My Best Friend Melinda Keen, Thank You So So Much for everything you have done for me and always giving me the motherly love , support and guidance I needed to make it in the big ole world. You’re my rock My Tennessee Hero!
