MY LOVE,MY MOM

MY Oxygen

By Doniqua SoviaPublished 6 years ago 3 min read

Inspire means to “breathe into” and when you breathe: Life comes forth. To be honest, I don’t know what to say, words to me though I write so easily don’t bring the recognition deserve to her. Life was something I needed, and she had the oxygen, and I began to breathe the moment she said I was chosen. DNA has no meaning, matter of fact it’s extinct, for this woman with nothing but love, made my heart beat. Weighing one pound, nine ounces, with no chance at all, she saw something great in someone so small. When doctors came with news not so good, she remained in the hope and that’s where she stood. For, other than love, there was care that ran deep for this premature baby with the cutest chubby cheeks.

There were ups and downs, and even death, but she never gave up. She knew life would come and stay and the light she had would penetrate and make the evils of darkness go away. Taking chances despite what hurdles came her way, for love for this child brought a smile each and every day. Adoption was the option for this little girl, she made the home complete and fit perfectly in their world. She’s been taking kids in since she was 22, that’s 34 years of loving on kids aged infant and all the way through. She’s not in it for the money, the kids don’t come with a tag, she’s in it to let the kids know the potential they all have. Though they come and go, and even few stays, the love she deposits in them will never be displaced. Seeds of wisdom, and seeds of love, seeds of motivation to never give up. She plants these seeds in these kids, and even waters them too. When she sees them, she lets them know I love you.

This lady is the definition of the word love. Her hugs are warm, and when she smiles it’s like an Angel from above. The call she has to help these kids, come from deep within her heart. It takes a special to do that, even though at times she falls apart. I can’t tell you how many kids she’s fostered, but one thing I know for sure, her love for kids, she never lost it, and it will be with her until she parts.

I’ve seen her help other parents, who were having a tough time. I’ve been on the receiving end of her helpful, yet repetitive advice. I’ve learned to forgive, and watch what I say. I’ve learned being kind to people go a long way. She’s told me to be accountable, and always tell the truth. She’s showed grace and mercy, because that’s what mom’s do. She’s never given up on me, though mistakes I’ve made. She tells me not to worry and be a doer of what I say.

Always help the less fortunate, because you’re no better than them. Be humble, and show integrity, and you don’t need a lot of friends. I’ve learned many lessons, but those are just a few, I could on about my mom and things she’s helped me through. Not many can do, what she has time and time again, throughout the ups and downs and still take them in. Generation after generation she’s deposited seeds, and some have grown and came to thank her for her good deeds. It’s not an easy task, but she does it well for holds the strength to do it still. This woman I have the honor to call my mom, and along with many others she’s inspired: She inspires me, and her inspiration I’ll carry on as into others life, I breathe.
