When we spoke with grandma Martha in the mornings, she would always greet us with a smile & say “Good Morning my Princes’, how are you? May God bless you & may you have a very beautiful day!” She would also read the Bible to us and quote it frequently. "Great is your faithfulness; your mercies begin afresh each morning.” Lamentations 3:23

Our grandma Martha always used to ask us how school was going & used to say to us,“You are very intelligent & I’m very proud of you.” “indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:3-5

Our grandma Martha loved watching us play sports. When we had soccer or basketball games, grandma Martha used to say, “You can do it!” she would always celebrate us & clap really loud & sometimes she would even cheer for us in English. “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

When grandma served us our meals she used to say,“It’s time to eat, wash your hands, food is served & it taste very delicious!” Grandma would also pray with us before we ate & she used to say, “I hope you like it & that it is of Nourishment to our bodies.” “This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” Matthew 6:9-13

When we watched too much tv in the evening after dinner, grandma used to say, “Don’t stay up late, have a good night & may god bless you, I love you very much my princes’.” “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge”
Proverbios 12: 1

When our grandma Martha went to heaven, she left many memories of beautiful moments, thats why in this book we say,
“Thank you grandma Martha for giving us so much love, support, teachings & for disciplining us. Thank you for teaching us about God. You will always live in our hearts.”

“A woman who fears the lord is to be praised” Proverbs 31:30
Martha Cecilia Valencia 12/09/1961-06/17/2023 This short story was written to remind my children of their grandma Martha’s teachings after she passed. I want them to remember her forever because I know how much she loved them and demonstrated God’s love to other children as a nanny. this is the translated versin of what my mom used to say in Spanish because that was her native language, therefore it was the language she would talk to us in. I hope you and yours can enjoy this book. To purchase a hardcover copy of this book, email us at: [email protected]
