Mindful Kitchen Rituals to Enhance Healthy Cooking
Smart Kitchen Rituals for Nutritious

The kitchen is the place in our house where any serious discussion takes place. Isn’t it? Yes, I personally feel that. In fact, I always have found my mother talking in the kitchen, whether I have to discuss my career or anything else. However, the most important discussions that I have had to date are about food, which ultimately goes further into health and wellness problems. Even though we all delight in the taste of our usual dishes, sometimes an important question may cross our minds:
How do we make our dishes healthy and at the same time keep their flavour intact?
To be honest, I have observed them, and it’s not like they don’t want to be healthy. I realise that my parents have developed habits that they probably cannot go over. In fact, let me tell you, my mother has high Blood Pressure, and she suffers from Sugar as well, she is in the habit of eating Sugar every day before she goes to the end. I have been saying to her, “If you’re going to continue with all these, no medicine is going to cure you”. And ultimately, I get scolded.
But the problem doesn’t end here. Everything we do today is inherited from our ancestors. For some people, bringing about changes in those rules can be really complicated. But seeing today’s problem, how our lifestyle is attracting bigger problems, somewhere we have to start.
As it is said, a few tiny steps can already make big differences, so we may still stick to our favourite food while making these changes. In most Asian households, we have practices of using mustard oil without giving even a single thought about health. According to research, these oils are highly processed and invoke some other problems. I asked my mother to.
Replace traditional vegetable oils with Kachi ghani mustard oil:
when preparing dishes. Don’t you think it’s a simple change? But not overlooking its importance in adding a wealth of nutrition to our food. Initially, they were quite doubtful of me. Would it taste as delicious as regular ones? My mother kept asking me, “Will your father like it?” I told her to be sure that it was not going to change her delicious recipe. And actually, it might offer even more taste.
As we talked more about this health and well-being adventure, we became more aware of how important organic and natural foods are. I motivated them to bring more organic lentils and vegetables to the table. Initially, they were worried about the Kachi ghani mustard oil price, but I showed them how we could buy these items occasionally and then increased the frequency until they became a part of our shopping list.
Many things I repeat to my parents are that the food we eat today is the cornerstone of our health in the future. Eating unprocessed food, including lentils, whole grains, and oils, can help people achieve higher energy levels, improve moods, and lower their risk of chronic diseases.
Let me give you a reality check…..
Eating healthy is not about being stuck in the right and wrongs. It’s about making informed choices and being willing to accept them. I greatly suggest anyone reading this to go for the smallest changes so that you will find your way around them. No matter if it is a replacement for an ingredient or a new dish to try, every single step will make you reach your purpose.
Let's not just have it met at the one-on-one level but rather keep this rapport alive in the family as a whole. Let us focus on the priority of our health and well-being, not just for each one of us but for our families. At the end of the day, it is not only about food but rather the love and care we have in cooking. Here is wishing you a healthier and happier journey in the kitchen!
