Medicare Insurance Agent
Work with a Medicare Broker and have peace of mind

When you are about to retire, you have a lot going on and many things to consider. Your mailbox begins to get overwhelmed with millions of fliers and invitations to buy their medicare product. The countless number of mailers can leave you feeling completely lost. You have been transformed from an employee who was able to lean on their employer to make these difficult decision, to someone with little to no insurance knowledge having to make these decision on your own.
What these fliers don't tell you, is there Medicare insurance plan being offered, may end up costing you thousands of dollars more. This is the result of not looking into your actual needs, and just showing you their "Best Medicare Plan". Without the proper guidance from an expert, you could make a decision that may impact your medical coverage for life.
A Medicare Insurance Agent or Broker represents dozens of Medicare insurance companies. They are able to quickly research all of the available companies and plans, to locate the company that is best for you. As a Medicare Insurance Broker who specializes in Medicare, we do not represent the company's best interest but you our clients best interest. We are not held accountable to sales quotas, or requirements to only spend a specific amount on time with each Medicare beneficiary.
We spend the needed time with each person, so we can conduct a full review of the medical coverages and the prescription drug benefits needed by you. As each person's medical needs are different, a different Medicare plan is needed to deal with their specific needs. If we only focused on their medical benefits, these individuals could end up spending thousands more in their drug cost.
Medicare Advantage plans are notorious in passing on exstream cost through their Part D prescription drug coverage. While their medical coverages including; copays, deductibles, and max out of pocket cost may look fantastic, it is important to also calculate your prescription drug cost.
In a recent review of a client's Medicare plan needs, we found their drug cost ranged from $800 annually to $32,000 annually from one company to the next. The Medicare Beneficiary was leaning towards the plan that would have cost them $32,000, until we showed them the true cost that plan. Nothing like a zero monthly premium Medicare Advantage plan costing you thousands in Part D prescription drugs.
This client opted to go with a Medicare Supplement plan aka: Medigap plan and obtain a seperate Part D plan. While a Medigap plan will cost an additional monthly premium, it allows you the freedom to go to any doctor who accepts Medicare. A Medigap plan also gives you the freedom, to select from any standalone Part D prescription drug plan that works best for you. The Medigap Plan G is the most common picked Medigap plan available to Medicare Beneficiaries today. It covers all of your medically necessary needs minus a small Part B annual deductible. Outside of your deductible, all covered services are provided at no cost to you. The Medigap Plan N would be the next more favored plan, as it comes with slightly lower monthly premiums. While the premiums are lower, they also provide a bit less coverage. This means your cost will go up to use this plan over the Plan G.
While there are many Medicare Advantage plans that work well for many people, some individuals do not want to be covered by an HMO plan where they are required to stay in network. With a Medicare Advantage plan you are only provided one Part D plan option which is automatically included within the Advantage plan. You are not allowed to select a different standalone Part D plan, if the plan you selected does not provide adequate coverage. It is important to review all options completely.
