It was an early morning; the sun was shining, and Ms. Davis was knelling on the side of her bed giving her praises and thanking god for another day, she always was praying that god make a way for her to be able to come into some money to open her daycare center in the name of her late mother Audrey Davis. After her prayers were finished, she headed into the kitchen to make her some breakfast and a pot of coffee. While sitting there she seen that the jackpot was 100,000 million dollars. This had come to her 3 times that week, so she felt like it was a sign from god. As she sat there in thoughts her oldest son Johnathan walked in through the back door. “Good Morning Momma” Johnathan said, Ms. Davis replied, “hello my loving son how are ya” he replied “tired” She said, “I bet are you hungry?” He frowned this face up and said, “not really I’m just tired”. As Ms. Davis walked toward the sink with her coffee cup in her hand and her glasses on her face, she got to the sink sat her cup on the counter and looked at her son and said, “ Jonny I am so proud of you , you’re a dedicated man with a dream most people with dreams don’t want to work , not you, you know that you still have to survive and I am proud of you”. Johnathan said, “well my momma always told me faith with no work is dead plus it aint like I got a line of sugar mommas just lined up to finance my dreams, I’m trying find Oprah and ending up meeting cousin Kelly”. Ms. Davis Laughed and “said my niece is not that bad, but what color hair she had in her head?” Johnathan looked at Ms. Davis and said,” Momma your niece is ghetto straight hood and to answer your question Blue!” Ms. Davis said “Blue”, Johnathan said “Momma blue and every girl with her had hair to match their out fits looking the women in the bag lady video” Ms. Davis laughed and said, “my Kelly is not that bad “Johnathan said “Momma that girl wear more colors than Lil Kim I the crush video.” Ms. Davis said you stop it before I pee on myself “. As they were talking walked in Ms. Davis older Brother Don, Johnathan looked at the door and said there goes Rick James and Teena Marie. Don was Ms. Davis older brother who had not gotten older in his mind but just in his body” hey sis” said Don Ms. Davis reply” hey big bro “ Don said “hey nephew looking like a pile of dirt” Johnathan responded” I look like a pile of the dirt and you look like an extra from Digital Underground so I guess we even” Don tapped Johnathan on his leg and said” come on nephew don't do me like that and what you talking about Teena Marie and Rick James my Teena name is Mary, and I left her home because she nagging me about gambling”. Ms. Davis looked at her brother and said “somebody needs to be nagging you because you need to stop gambling” Don looked at his sister and said “OK Iyanla fix my life I didn’t come over here for no counseling session and I sure don’t want no lecture, I just came to say hello to my beautiful family and see with my big little sister was cooking this morning cause I'm hungry “. Ms. Davis looked at him and said “last time I checked I didn't die and come back your wife why you didn’t eat before you left “? Don looked at his sister as he sat in the chair holding his cane with his right hand and said “you don't listen well! Old age messed up you’re hearing I said she was nagging me so I got out there.” Ms. Davis shook her head and said well” all I got is coffee” Don stuck his tongue out and said “ew, I don’t drink no coffee but anyway nephew what’s going on what you up to” Johnathan reply “nothing just telling Mama how ghetto her niece Kelly is”, Don shook his head back and forth and said “ I don’t agree with you on a lot of stuff but that is one thing I agree on that is a ghetto ass girl every time I see her she either fighting somebody or trying to fight somebody but she funny as hell I don't care what nobody say she is a funny young lady, I like her a lot .“ Ms. Davis looked at both of the men and said” yall stop that meddling and mess because she's bringing the baby over this morning and I don't want no foolishness” Don said Let me find out you running the daycare for rachets. Ms. Davis said “ain’t nothing wrong with helping your family out when they need you, you should try it maybe you will get some good luck when you out there gambling”

The door opened and in walked the center of the room's conversation Kelly. “Hey auntie, {scream}hey uncle give me some money!’. He looked at her and said you should be the one giving me some money you mess with all the big time Ballers shot callers”, Kelly said no uncle I know you the man with the plan, give me some money” Don said” say give me got drown and never got found” Kelly said well I got the magic touch and I went to the bottom of the sea and dug him up” Don said “Girl get up out my face”. Kelly tapped Johnathan on his leg and said, “hey big cousin, ew, your clothes are dirty!” Johnathan said I just back from a place that pays called a job”. Kelly said, “the shade! and I'm not in work because I'm in school to be a makeup artist”. Don said “everybody in the city about to be running around here looking like Ronald McDonald” Kelly said “Uncle Don! I know how-to do-good makeup. He said” you do! For a clown”. Him and Jonathan slapped each other up, laughing and teasing Kelly. Ms. Davis said Don the lottery is $100,000,000 and if we all put in $3 apiece, we can win it I seen it 3 times, so I know it's a sign Kelly said well I got $3 so count me in, did you hear anything back from any of the places you applied for a grant?” Ms. Davis said, “No I haven't heard anything back, but I know I will.” Kelly said “that's why I love you, the most faithful servant on earth and it has helped me a lot”, Johnathan stood up and said “Me too Mama and because you have faith in it I do to, count me in.” Ms. Davis said, “Alright me and the baby will take a walk it's a nice day outside and will get the ticket and then I'll let you guys know if we win in the morning.” Johnathan said, “Mama that sounds like a plan but I'm tired so I'm going to head to the bed.” He left his $3 on the table, Don said “Me too I think I got $3”. He handed his sister $3 in quarters, Ms. Davis looked at it and said, “What is this?” Don said Ms. Davis don't act like you only take blue and green money and my silver ain't welcome.” Ms. Davis said, “I know you got three whole dollars and not this change.” Don said lady you go take the money or not?” Ms. Davis said “yeah yeah yeah I’m a take it” Don said” OK well I got to get in the streets I catch up with you later little sis”, Kelly said “yeah me too I don't want to be late for class so I will be here after class is over love you auntie, here’s your $3.” Handed her $3 and ran out the door.

Shortly after Ms. Davis got the baby all cleaned up and ready to go to the store and purchase a ticket, she purchased the ticket and headed back to the house. Her and the little one hung out at her place until Kelly class was over. Kelly picked up her baby went and so did the night. Ms. Davis fell asleep early, so she did not check the tickets. The next morning, she did what she normally does, made herself a pot of coffee and cleaned her house. Later that afternoon she walked to the store for some exercise and to grab a couple things, while she was there, she decided that she would check her ticket to see if she won. she handed it to the Arab man behind the register and he checked it, the man in broken English said, “Ma'am you Won!!! you really won!!” Ms. Davis said I won?” the man said, “yes you win, you win big.” The man came from behind a register and took a picture with Ms. Davis and told her that he couldn't cash the ticket in because it was too high of amount, Ms. Davis very quietly thank the man and walked out the store.

She went home and called the number on the back and they told her that she would have to come in on Monday morning to hand in her ticket, In the spare time she got her relatives back over to her house and they all came up with the plan to put the ticket on the back cover of a little black book and each family member would get the book each day, but they had to make one entry into the book to prove they had it. Monday morning, they will all get together and go hand in the ticket. On Thursday Ms. Davis wrote in the book saying, “I thank God for this opportunity and with my money I'm going to open up my daycare and buy all of my grandkids nice cars and houses.” On Friday uncle Don had the book and he said It’s the big dog big G I’m going to take Mary to Vegas and if I hit big! I’m going to church”. On Saturday Kelly said They aint ready! I’m about to get this body done, I’m taking my kids shopping and I’m opening my make-up studio. Oh, and I’m going to do something nice for auntie.” On Sunday Jonathan had the book and he said” I am buying momma a house opening my commercial cleaning business and I am going to find Oprah.”

On Monday morning they all got together, and they went to the place to hand in the ticket. Unfortunately, the ticket was only worth $10,000 and after taxes they only received $7,000 total. They were disappointed because it wasn’t what they thought, while at Ms. Davis house they were figuring how to split $7,000 four ways. Deep in thought Ms. Davis was unsure of what to do. Then her phone rang. Ms. Davis got a surprise phone call; the phone call was from one of the agencies that had read her proposal for a grant to start her daycare and agreed to give her $13,000. Between the two inherits Ms. Davis had $20,000. Ms. Davis decided that she was going to split it four ways because she did not need all that money to open her daycare. She felt because they had all put in for the ticket that she would share the 20,000 with her family. In return the family helped and were active staff members of Little Audrey’s Daycare and on the last page of the book was a family reunion picture where the Davis family was able to host a family reunion picnic for the whole family, funded by the daycare.
