It is a bright and shiny morning!

“Good morning mama,” says AJ in a sleepy voice.

“Good morning AJ, someone is still sleepy this morning,” says Mama cheerfully.

With hair a mess and sleepy eyes little AJ climbs up to the counter and waits for Mama to serve her something to eat.

“Mama I want cereal for breakfast and I want it now,” exclaims AJ.

With a confused look Mama explains to AJ, “ it is not very nice to ask for something without saying the right words, my dear,”

“When we want something we have to say please and thank you.”

“Ok Mama” AJ says with a sigh. “pleaseeeeee?”

Patiently AJ waited for her Mama to make her some delicious breakfast. Once she finished AJ’s eyes grew big as she said “ wow Mama! This breakfast looks delicious!”

Mama hands AJ a fork as she smiles and says with a little laugh “ eat up we have a big day ahead of us.”

AJ eats her breakfast in a hurry and jumps down from the counter, rushing to her room.

“Not so fast AJ” Mama exclaims.

Feeling shocked AJ stops and turns around asking her, “ what Mama, I finished my breakfast.”

As Mama points to her plate she explains, “ Yes, you did. Good job!”

“BUT! You have to clean up when you are finished.” “Whenever we are finished eating or playing with a toy we MUST clean up when we are done.”

Little AJ smiles and nods her head, “ ok, I'm sorry” says AJ quietly.

As AJ does what she is told Mama kisses her on the head and says, “thank you sweetie for listening.”

AJ smiles as she rushes to her room with excitement in her heart.

“AJ!” Mama yells from the other room. “It's time to get dressed so we can go to the park today!”

“Ok! I am getting dressed!” Quickly AJ throws on her favorite pink dress with flowers , and grabs her favorite white converse. “Ok, Mama I’m ready.”

“Great!” exclaims Mama, “alright let's get our things and head out to the park.”

Mama and AJ walk out the door and hop into the car. “ Ready to have some fun my dear AJ?” questions Mama. “Yes, I am ready!” exclaims Aj.

Taking only ten minutes to arrive at the large park. Aj yells, “YAY! MAMA LET ME OUT NOW!”

Mama smiles but says sternly, “I understand Aj that you are very excited to be at the park, but it is not very nice to scream or demand things without saying please.”

“Im sorry Mama, I just want to go play.” said Aj in a calm and quiet voice.

Mama smiled and said, “ok lets go!”

Mama grabs the ice box, a few of Aj’s toys and walks with her to the park. Aj’s eyes grew big as she saw the large park that was before her! “Wow Mama do you see how big this park is?!”

“Yes Aj, it's so big! I will be watching you so you don't get lost, if you feel lost or worried that you can't find me just walk out to the swings and you will see me waiting for you.” said Mama in a sweet voice.

“Aj!” Mama yells out. “It's time to have your lunch!”

With excitement, Aj comes running out from the slide and straight to Mama to have her lunch. “Here you go Aj, here's your peanut butter and jelly sandwich and chips.”

“ I don't want that Mama, I want ice cream.” says Aj as she pushes away her food.

“Aj I made your lunch and I think it's best for you to eat it, you will find it super duper yummy once you take a bite.” says Mama kindly.

“But I don't want it!” says Aj and she pouts.

“Ok that's fine, if you aren't going to eat your sandwich then I guess it's time to go home.”

“ NO! Mama I don't wanna go home.” says Aj.

“Ok well then let's eat.” says Mama one last time.

With a big sigh Aj finally takes her sandwich and takes a bite.

“You're right Mama it is tasty. I like it.”

Mama smiles and shakes her head.

“All done?” Asks Mama.

“Yes I am full, I am going to go play now.” says Aj.

As Aj runs back to the park she looks at Mama and says, “Thank you!”

Mama laughs and says, “you're welcome my dear.”

“Ok Aj it's time to go!” yells Mama.

Aj runs back to Mama with a tired look in her eyes.

Mama and Aj clean up their things and head back to the car. As they drive away Mama looks in the back of the car and asks, “did we have fun today?” Aj nods her head, and looks out the window.

“ So what did we learn today?” asks Mama.

In a tired voice Aj responds, “to always use manners.”

“Yes Aj, that right because our manners become important the more we grow up.”
