Dealing With Death
My dad wasn't a bad man. He didn't have the easiest upbringing; having multiple older siblings that looked after him most of the time. He grew up in Luton surrounded my family. He met a woman and had a child, and then met my mum and went on to have four more children.

The Christmas Lie
Stockholm Syndrome is a funny thing. I remember Christmas as a child but I only remember the good. Granny in the kitchen baking apple pies. Nadimah and I 'decorating' our dog, Barney, with tinsel. I remember Christmas cake soaking in brandy, the little plastic cake decorations...even the taste of granny's baking. The smell of our real Christmas tree. The excitement of going out to get the tree, decorating it, (well...watching my granny decorate, asking to help and being told yes but her ending up doing it herself because 'she would do it right.' LOL) and my father putting the angel on the top.

Half of my friends mock and poke fun at me for it, and the other half impart there wisdom on me to stay as long as I can. I’ve chosen the latter, unless the right opportunity comes up. Here’s why I’ve chosen to stay at home instead of move out as a 21-years-old.

You Do the Best You Can With What You Have
I wouldn’t change the relationship I have with my mother for the world; she is truly my best friend. Though if you were to meet her and get to know her, then meet me and get to know me, you might not see how it's possible. We could not physically be more different, when you think of mother and daughter “besties,” we are not what comes to mind. We aren’t like the Gilmore Girls; no one confuses us for sisters.
