Wanting a Baby at 19?!
What is wrong with me? Is it natural to have this need to have a child this young? I am aware that I am not financially ready to afford one, nor ready to sacrifice my body for a little bundle of joy. But I am so impatient to experience being pregnant and motherhood. I have to admit, my generation isn't helping my case. At least 1/2 of my friends are currently pregnant or already have their little ones. I am aware that they were NOT planned and they might not be as happy as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter might make them seem, but following their pregnancies throughout social media makes me envy them. Also, since I work in the early childhood education field, most of my co-workers already have children or are pregnant and are gloating in my face.

Losing Someone You Love Unexpectedly
December 8, 2016 I woke up in my room by hearing my mom's cellphone ringing in her room. I laid still, listening to her talk to my uncle about something that would change our family forever. I heard her get out of bed and walk into my room to tell me my grandpa had fallen and hit his head so bad that he had to be transported to our hospital from his so they could do a platelet transplant. I instantly got this sick feeling in my stomach that this would be the fall that would take him away from us. I got up and reluctantly got ready for school. Third period came around when the speaker came on asking for me to be dismissed. I met my mom at the back of campus and we rushed to the hospital, the entire time I had no clue what was going on. When we arrived to the hospital I walked to the ICU with my mom to be greeted by our pastor, my godmother, grandmother, and a neurosurgeon. The neurosurgeon explained to us that there was bleeding on my grandpa's brain and that he needed to have surgery as soon as possible. We called the rest of the family and by 11 PM everyone was there. We all shuffled into his room, three at a time, to tell him we loved him and good luck. The first surgery was successful, it was the days that followed that were a nightmare.

Sisters Till the End
This picture is just from this past Christmas. Do I hate my sisters? Sometimes. Is there ever time that I feel that I need my sisters? A lot. Do I have a lot of love for both of my sisters? Yes! Us 3 girls grew up on a farm of 40 acres. So, if we ever felt to get a way from each other, sometimes wasn't always possible. Even with that much land. That's because we would follow one another out there in the wilderness of the farm. There is were I learned that family come first no matter what. That my sisters were my very first friends. Friends that I loved yet didn't always see eye to eye with. They are my sisters. I do love them with all of my heart. Even if there are times that we don't talk, and times that we don't see each other. The love is still there. My oldest sister is the one that I was always closest to growing up to, and if I ever had a problem, she was always there to listen and give me advice. The middle sister, she never gave me advice, she would gripe about every little thing that I was doing wrong at that time, or gripe about my problem even today what I would be doing wrong. Tell me which sister would be the best bet to talk to in bad times. Don't worry, I'll wait.

Blood and Water
All my life I have never understood people whose sisters are their best friend. Seeing two sisters hugging and hanging out and actually enjoying it was like seeing a unicorn for me. I could not fathom being my sister's best friend. Especially since most of the time I never really felt like her little sister.

If You Come...
If you come to one of my family parties (which is almost every weekend), you will be welcomed with open arms. Immediately, you will be by who ever's house it is, shake hands with everyone in the room, and be given a plate of whatever food we're having. Whether it's the usual: variety of tamales, variety of hominy soup, fried rolled tacos of potato/sausage/ricotta cheese or even more common: burgers, pizza, spaghetti, salads. Or tacos of cow head, tongue, eyes and intestines that sounds more delicious when said in Spanish. You may add cilantro, chopped onions, lime, avocado, salsa, sour cream. We would have margaritas with or without tequila, soda, water, Corona or Model beer.

Red Velvet
The gravel grumbled beneath the car's tires as she pulled us into the parking lot - the gospel music she insisted on playing before service quickly dwindled down in decibels - no longer audible as she took the key from the ignition and gathered her purse from the floor.

My Wonderful Family
This a picture of my family and I on my wedding day. As you can see, we can't be serious for pics sometimes. But this story is about my crazy and funny family. Some of my family members are not in the pic. Here is my family and I want to introduce them to you.

6 Enjoyable Ways to Bring Your Family Closer Together
Some families drift apart once all the kids have grown up. They only speak to each other on special occasions. Nobody even picks up the phone on a Sunday afternoon. Is this what you want to happen to your family once your children become adults?

He's the Reason I Always Wear Rubber Boots
I couldn’t hear a word he was saying. His mouth was moving in slow motion, spit barreling out and riding the air. His soul, painted four shades darker today, was flashing warning signals at me from within his chest. The skin on his forehead was so furrowed, it looked like it had burrowed away into itself. I bet his nerves were having a fist fight. I bet it was because of me.
