'Your Daughter Has Duane Syndrome'
I first noticed when I was cradling my squishy little newborn on my breast as she nursed. Her eyes were open and she was staring up at me with so much love. She was such a beautiful and precious five-pound, nine-ounce baby, and I felt an overwhelming joy seeing her getting nourishment from my body. I did that! There’s a sense of pride whenever she nursed and I could tell she was totally content and in love with me. But, every time she nursed on my left side I got a sinking feeling in my stomach.

No Help Just Judgment for Families with Disabled Children
We've all seen the posts on social media: "People on food stamps need to get a job" and "if you can't afford your child then you should have used protection." These are common statements we see and hear on a daily basis. It's not that simple and here's why...

Learning to Forgive My Mother
There are times when to me my mother seems like an angel or a saint. I look at her and all I see is how amazing she is but yet I struggle because the reality of her is often difficult for me to conceptualize. I do not want to give a biographical timeline of my mother’s life, but I’m not sure there is any one story my mother has told me that can take up more than a minute to explain. The stories I get from her are in bits and pieces, more like a puzzle that has not be solved yet. Within these narratives that feel more like anecdotes than stories, I see her as either all good, to be lauded or someone I am completely disappointed in.

Motherhood
Well when I first found out I was going to be a mom, I was terrified that I wouldn’t feel the same way. I was only 22, just got married to my best friend, and I was ready to party with my girls on the weekends. That was the best thing in the world to me. Fast forward to today, 23 years old, still married to my best friend, but now we are raising a perfect son together. So, is it really the best in the world?

Baby Products You Must Have
I believe one of the hardest things for me was deciding what baby products to get for my son while I was pregnant and preparing. Thankfully, my family is baby crazy. Plus they're basically pros so I was fortunate enough to receive most of my baby products through them.

Freedom's Restraint
I have to say, my life has truly been blessed. I've been told that my childhood and even teen years have been better than my oldest siblings. I've been told that I have more freedom to do things than they did when "they were your age." I find it kind of funny because even with all this freedom, I've still felt restrained from myself. Don't get me wrong, I love my family to bits and pieces, but we all have those moments and sometimes we have our whole lives questioning if we even fit in. Mine just happens to be my whole life.

My First Pregnancy
I am sitting on my couch looking at this amazing being. She is 7-months-old. When did this happen? Why has time gone by so fast. Just seven months ago she was born. Just a year ago she was a tiny bump inside me. Just a year and a half ago, she was a thought. A beautiful thought. What would it be like to be pregnant? Would it be a boy or a girl? Would she look more like me or her father? Will she like The Muppets? Will he be named after my father?

Life as a Stay at Home Mom/Housewife
Being a stay at home mom/housewife isn't as easy as it seems. Since the fact that you aren't bringing money home to pay bills and other stuff, there are other responsibilities that you have that are different than a mom or wife that actually have a job.
