Caught Up:
“Beep, Beep, Beep.” Ryan’s alarm clock was going off. “Beep, Beep, Beep.” It sounded again, but he could have sworn those beeps were from his on-going dream. However, when the sound grew louder and louder versus fading away, he knew something was up. It was almost like when you have to use the restroom in your sleep, but, as soon as you get ready to go, you wake up and realize you’re still in bed.

Moms Night Out
Do you hide in a bathroom or do you call a babysitter and spend the night out? Sometimes I hide in the bathroom, lol. When I do get a babysitter and go out, I usually go to a bar, but I have always wondered what it would be like to go to dinner and a movie with myself. I have never thought about what it would be like to enjoy some actual time to myself. When I do go out to the bar, I go with one of my best friends, who is also a mom, and we really enjoy the time out. We talk and have conversations and laugh, it is really enjoyable and what a mom’s night out is really about. Hiding in the bathroom is not the way to have time alone, doing something that makes you happy during your time away from your kids is what a mom’s night is all about.

Post War Life for the Monetti's
The Second World War over and no doubt left as to where Charlie wanted to be, routine played a big part in everything the Monetti patriarch did. Like many New Yorkers, Charlie and Lizzie spent their honeymoon in the Catskills, and for good measure, befriended the resort owners. So going forward, the family stayed in the owner’s home, and every October, a smaller turnout appealed to Charlie. Thus, Gramps never relented, and his annual engagement always followed suit. “He would chop wood for the fireplace and play cards all week,” said Bill.

Overcoming the Inner Child
We all want to do better at raising our kids than our parents did. In adulthood, as I look back on my own home life, I reflect on how it wasn’t an all bad childhood, but at the same time, the good didn’t out-weigh the bad. And it's affected my outlook on life now that I'm no longer present in that small period of time and space. I've brought it with me into the ‘freedom of adulthood’ which I fantasized about as a child, and now it effects how I motivate on a day to day basis. Making that youthful fantasy become a drab reality.

The Lie (For a child)
This, folks, is a child’s lie; this is a lie that I told my grandma when I got in trouble. See, I got in trouble for climbing a tree. I go out early in the morning and try to find a tree to climb. I was never allowed to climb trees because my parents were afraid, I would get stuck, but I didn’t listen. I go out behind my grandma’s house to the woods. At the time my grandma lived on the bottom road at the top of the hill. Well I end up finding a tree, but it was a baby. It was only about five hundred feet tall. I look up this baby tree and start to climb.
