"Grab the tea & have a seat next to me, you see this picture right here?" "Let me see." My niece said as she sat down to take a look at what I was holding. "That's the good ole country baby. Now, most folks 'round the world think when you're from Louisiana you're automatically from the big Easy or New Orleans, and that just ain't whats all to the "boot". You see there's a lot of culture, knowledge, and hidden gems, from the pull-strap of the boot all the way down to the heel, crawling over to the toe, and back up the vamp of the boot! Louisiana has a lot of trees and a lot of land with roots going all the way back since before the purchase!".

721 Heart Shaped Everything
In June of 2006, I thought my life was where it was supposed to be. I had a job working for a small locally owned business. I was recently promoted to the Store Manager. My husband, at the time, was working for the railroad as a conductor, and we had a 1 year old little girl. We owned a small home in a small city. Little did I know, big things were on the for me. For my career and for my life. Little did I know...my life would quickly turn upside down, one event after another. For me, my life started over for the first time in 2006. I had minor monumental moments between 2006 and 2015, where it would start over for a second time, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

There Is No Bitcoin Mystery
He asked me not to use his last name, current photo, or his location, and I promised him that. But the time has come to tell the rest of it. I should start by saying that my nephew, Dane is a genius, as was his father (my brother) and his grandfather (my father.) Many interesting things are born of genius. My brother...Dane’s father, Jason, was a gifted inventor who spoke four languages fluently before full adulthood; one of them, Japanese. So, technically, that’s where this all began.

Smoke, Fog and Nostalgia
Small town life isn't for everyone, but it does have a certain sort of beauty and comfort. You know your neighbors and have explored every inch of terrain. It's your home and if ever a place felt like a hug, that's it. To me that hug was just a little too tight and got tighter every day. Now I have the Wanderlust in me, but I'll always feel nostalgia for that little slice of town; Scappoose, OR.

The Ghostly Foundation
The sun settled atop of the roof like thick runny syrup that drooped and scattered downward towards the roof trusses, gradual and slick. Wooden squares lined up in a uniform fashion. The splinters sprang to the sky, drying from the heat. A chimney would stand tall on top of the amount of brittles. Smoke rings blow high in the sky, evaporating. A pipe ran down to the lower level of the house, water bounced through the wells through the drain of the crackled home front. You would always have to dodge the droplets that would escape the gaping holes.

Book Review: "The Dilemma" by B.A Paris
When I first read the summary of this book (without spoilers obviously!) I thought to myself 'this is going to be really predictable but I'm going to read it anyway.' Honestly, my predictions could not have been more wrong and the book, from start to finish, was a heart-pounding psychodrama told through the eyes of husband and wife - Adam and Olivia. As the story flips back and forth between them and we get to see more and more of their lives unfold, we take a moment to also realise that there is a certain element of trust missing from the relationship and wonder to ourselves if these issues from the past are going to survive these next blows.

Greensboro, NC
Greensboro. My home. My town. I was born in Burlington, NC just a little ways away from Greensboro. I’ve had family to stay near Greensboro and it has always been like a second home to me. From mall visits, Celebration Station, and to Wet N Wild! Greensboro made my childhood AMAZING! This was where some of my most significant memories lie.

THE WILL
I sat on the visitor’s side of the small church where Granny Ford lay peacefully in her plain polished wooden casket, lined with white fluffy linen which matched her white hair. I had stood by a few moments before the service began to look upon the beautiful, wrinkled face I had grown to love through the years growing up and into my young adulthood. Now they had closed the casket and I would never see that face again. That wonderful smile she always had no matter her circumstances. Hear the kind words, she always would have for me to hear. This made me sad and I quickly brushed a tear away which threatened to escape from my eye.

Keep Going On:
Its February 15th, 2021 and I’ve come to the end of a long journey and will have kept a promise I made 2 years ago in full. This final act I’m about to complete will make 20,000 good deeds I’ve completed for others. This was a journey that started at age 14 and one that lead me to this moment and date. It’s a journey that I quite frankly still don’t truly understand but one that had to be completed because of a promise I made to my mom before she passed.
