Is fast food effecting our babies?
Something my dad told me changed how I think about fast food

Let me start off with some back ground information. Growing up my family mainly ate fast food because we were always traveling for my cheer competitions or we were always at football/basketball games for me to cheer. Then when I got pregnant I was always craving Chick-fil-A, bojangles and McDonald's. Now that my baby is almost 3 months old we have realized he is developing faster than most babies should. He was starting to hold his head up at a week old and now he has full control over it. He also started trying to stand up around 3 weeks old now he can do it on his own for about 10 seconds and then falls down. What really got my dads attention was when I talked to him about how I thought my son was teething and he was making a joke saying "what do you think you just have a genetically advanced baby or something." Well a week later he finally realized I was right and my baby is teething so we had a conversation about fast food. He said they put product in the cows to make them grow fast so they can be slaughtered faster. Then he told me that those same chemicals we are eating when we eat fast food. This made him wonder if since this generation mainly eats fast food if that is why a lot of babies now a days are more advanced than they should be. He said he wonders if it effects our DNA/genetics and then we pass those chemicals down to our children when they are born. And yes we were just talking and no we don't have proof or science or anything to back it up but it really did make me start to think. He's right though a lot of babies are more advanced than there were back in the older days and a big change that has happened is now so many people eat fast food instead of cooking like they used to. But here is the real question. If people knew them eating fast food would effect their children would they stop? Some people may look at it as a good thing because if they are developing faster it means they can do stuff for themselves faster. Other parents may look at it on how it changes babies ability to use their instincts how they normally should. It also takes the parenting out of parenting. Yes you still have to work with them for a little while but if they are learning how to do everything so quickly you don't get to enjoy the milestone moments as long. I don't know about y'all but I cherish every milestone my son makes like he will never do the same thing again and that could just be because it's my 1st born and maybe that is what makes a difference in these parents answers on how they feel about it. But all I can tell you is that if I knew something like that could effect my baby I would have never eaten fast food. I want my baby to take his time because it feels like he is growing up so fast. But that's another thing I have realized once you have a baby you really understand the meaning of time flies because my pregnancy felt like it took forever but the moment I had him I blinked twice and now he's almost 3 months old. That's a story for a different time though but in all seriousness someone should do studies on this and we should see if my dads right because some of it does make sense.
