Grandpas Diary

( girls voice )

1, 2, 3, 4...

Damian runs down the hallway and into a room towards the end closing the door behind him.

Damian looks around the room seeing a vintage desk then moving further around seeing an old chair next to a tall lamp then moving a bit further around to see a free standing old tall cupboard.

Damian runs to the cupboard, opens the door and jumps inside pulling the door slightly closed behind him.

( girls voice )

Ready or not, here I come

Damian is peaking through a slight crack in the cupboard door as he hears doors opening and closing before soon seeing the door to the room he is in open up.

Damian little sister Aly walks into the room looking around before noticing the cupboard with the door open just enough to give a peep hole gap.

Aly walks closer to the cupboard before Damian jumps out at her

( Damian yells out )

Raaaaarrrrr....

Before tackling his little sister to the ground.

Both of them laugh

Aly looks around the room briefly

( Aly says )

This must be grandpa’s old room

Damian and Aly hop up.

Damian walks over to the Desk then to the old chair and notices a black diary sitting on the chair with nothing printed on the cover.

Damian picks it up and sits in the chair.

( Aly says )

Damian we should probably go out of here, mum might get angry

( Damian replies )

Don’t be such a sook, mum doesn’t have to know we were even in here

Damian opens the diary and looks through and sees on the first page a house drawing then flips through some more pages before noticing a page with a dollar bill drawn on it.

( Damian says )

Wow Aly, look how real this looks

Aly walks over and looks at the picture

( Aly says )

It looks so real

Aly goes to touch the page to make sure it’s not real.

As her finger runs across the drawing she gets zapped and pulls back

( Aly yells )

Ouch

Damian looks at Aly and notices as she starts to pixelate and fade towards the diary before she is completely gone.

Damian jumps up and drops the diary with his eyes open as wide as can be before he notices himself also being pulled into the diary.

Damian falls into a massive pit of money with his eyes closed.

Suddenly he feels a hand on his cheek and opens his eyes to see Aly kneeling above him.

Damian sits up and both him and Ali look around noticing what they are looking at.

Damian stands up and looks around.

( Damian says )

Aly...

This must be where grandpa keeps all his money.

Aly stands up and looks around

( Aly says )

How do we get out of here

Damian looks around a bit more and notices the black diary sitting on a pile of money.

He scrunches his face for a second

( Damian says )

Wait a minute

Damian walks over to the diary and Aly follows.

Damian picks up the diary and opens to the first page with the drawing of the house.

( Damian says )

This must be home

Aly looks at Damian then quickly runs her finger over the drawing feeling the zap again and pulls her hand back.

Damian looks at her then back at the book.

( Aly says )

Damian

Damian looks at Aly noticing she is fading back into the diary again.

His eyes widen.

( Damian says )

Wait

Damian bends down a grabs as much money as he can before he gets pulled back into the diary as well.

Damian feels himself slumpt onto timber floors.

Noticing he is back in his grandpa’s room he sits up realising he still has the money he grabbed.

Aly looks at Damian

Aly and Damian hear their mum call out

( mum )

Damian, Aly, dinner is ready

Aly and Damian look at each other and then the money.

Damian jumps up and quickly puts the diary back onto the chair before him and Aly run out of the room.

Damian runs into his room putting the money under his bed shoving it back so it can’t be seen then returning to the hallway and running to the dining room to join his mum, dad, sister and grandpa for dinner.

Damian rushed to eat his food and Aly tries not to act suspicious.

( mum says )

Damian...

Eat your food properly

Damian looks at his mother then his father then his grandfather noticing his grandfather is looking at him with a downward lean of his head almost as to see over the top of his glasses.

Damian looks towards his sister then back towards his grandfather who gives him a slight smile and eyebrow raise.

After dinner Damian walks into his room and shuts his door behind him and bends down to look at the money under his bed.

That night Aly is in bed asleep when Damian sneaks into her room

( Damian says )

Aly

Shaking her to wake her up

( Aly replies )

What Damian ?

( Damian says )

Twenty thousand dollars

( Aly replies )

( Damian says )

The money, I counted it...

Twenty thousand dollars

Aly sits up

( Aly says )

I wonder what else is in the book

Damian and Aly hear a knock on Alys bedroom door as their grandfather peeps in.

( grandpa says )

Hey kids

Shhhhh...

Grandpa hand gestures them to follow him.

Both Aly and Damian get up and walk out of the room and follow their grandpa into his old office.

Grandpa sits in his chair and looks at Aly and Damian

( grandpa says )

Want to hear a story...

Damian and Aly look at each other then back at their grandpa

( grandpa says )

Take a seat

Damian and Aly look at each other again then proceed to sit.

Grandpa gestures with a finger to his lips to keep quiet as he give a slight head lean forward to peep over his glasses again then proceeds to open the black diary.

As the diary opens grandpa looks back up at Damian and Aly again and gives a slight smile
