Finally after forty days of arguing, being wounded and searching through the wilderness we made it to the garden.
Forty three days ago it was my 28th birthday, I received what turned out to be the greatest gift ever. My gift was presented to me in a flamboyant gift bag. Inside the bag was two gifts individually wrapped; the first gift was a passport with a plane ticket inside, and the second gift, was a little black book with nothing inside not even any writing. Inside the box with the black book was a note that read, “in order to see what is inside the book you have to BELIEVE.”
The next morning we make it to the airport, check in our baggage, and board our plane. Two hours before our plane landed I decided to open the little black book, and this time since I believed, the book was filled with drawings and instructions. After landing we checked into our hotel. Throughout the night I tried to understand the book but I could not so I decided to just get in bed and rest. The next morning we got up, checked out and met with 3 other couples who had been given the same gift. The books were magical because no other couple could read what was in no one else’s book, and the only way we could make it to the garden was if we all stayed together and helped each other.
So we began our journey! On the tenth day we began to become weary, and things begin to go wrong. One of the couples could not continue to pretend they didn’t have problems so they begin to disagree on everything. We started losing our luggage and other necessities. Twenty days later another couple begin to disagree, because one blamed the other for misplacing their water bottle, it was so bad that we had to break up into two groups of four staying 3 feet apart for the next two days. Thirty days later we was faced with extreme hardships, two of our strongest people that we depended on the most suffered; one from a broken arm and the other a broken leg. We also began to experience lack of food, water and other necessities.
With 10 more days left we wanted to turn back but we persevered.
38 days into the journey open wounds and insect bites started to become infected causing near death experiences, because of our lack of resources. We kept the faith, prayed in unity and kept pushing. On day forty we made it to the spot where it told us the garden should be but we could see nothing. We began to become discouraged, then we heard a voice say believe. We all sat silently, meditated and then believed. As we believed the extremely saturated ground under us began to sink us in causing us to take a four foot fall. We fell into an extremely beautiful garden filled with rivers exotic flowers, and every animal that was ever created. We continued to walk through the garden and we saw 4 tables filled with $500,000! Then out walks a tribe of very handsome and beautiful humans. They gave us food, medicine and bandaged our wounds. They told us that every six months they pick four different couples to take this journey and we are the first to all stay together and make it to the garden, so the rewarded us each with double the money that was on our tables.
The tribal people told us that they believed in unity and love. They believed that if you see someone at their lowest and you can still love them that it was meant to be.
Once we made it back to our hotel we found that the tribal people had restored everything we lost on our journey.
This journey taught us that we are better together. Upon returning home we decided to stay connected to each other and even started a Couples counseling called “Better Together.”
