Deep in a mountain, a cave nestled a dragon. Well we all know how much dragons love treasure. In this cave there was so much that the dragon that lives inside could hardly move. Wonders like that don’t stay a secret for long.

Yet on this particular morning our dragon was sitting down for a small but scrumptious breakfast of Strawberries and lavender biscuits. It’s actually a little known fact, unlike their love of gold, that dragons also love strawberries just as much.

Charles, which is the name of our dragon, had forgot to make a glass of goats milk and left the table just for a moment. And just then, a strawberry sprouted ten little tiny human feet and scurried across the table. As Charles returned, it plumped back down behind a vase of buttercups. Charles then finished his breakfast and sat by his favorite bolder to stare at his treasure.

Suddenly! The greens of the strawberry popped off. To reveal the inside was hollowed out by our little human friends. They knew the dragon got a daily supply of the freshest ripest strawberries, and devised a plain to sneak in one and get Charles’ most prized possession. The glistening purple orb, which he kept in the most safest place imaginable. The cookie jar!

The five little adventures scattered across the table. Two slid down one leg of the table, two jumped to the chair and onto the floor. But then there was Christabel, drifting down on the stem of a buttercup she snatched from the vase.

They all met in front of the icebox. Looking up at the cookie jar sitting on top, Christabel fell back from having to lean back so far! But despite the long climb ahead our tiny crew started up. Wedged between the cabinet and the icebox scooting and shuffling inch by inch. Finally they made it! The cookie jar was at hand. They laughed and giggled with delight thinking about the glistening purple orb and all that it could buy.

They stacked themselves one on top of another, pulled off the lid and climbed inside. Their eyes so wide filling with joy seeing a little of the orb shining through the cookies.

At this point Christabel had grown quite the appetite. So she decided she would just take a nibble of one of the smaller cookies, surely Charles wouldn’t notice. Before she knew it she had eaten the whole thing, might seem regular for a human to eat a whole cookie, but dragon cookies however, are very large, almost as big as you!

She was so drawn by how delicious the cookie were that she began to eat another. Her fellow adventures wondered why she was eating cookies instead of helping them pull the orb out. Until they tasted one themselves that is! Before they knew it they forgot about the glistening purple orb and were stuffing as much cookie in their mouths as they could.

With their bellies protruding they lay all on top of the orb. Not giving it a notice in the least. The only thing they could think of was how yummy those cookies were.

All at once a giant eye opened above the jar! It was Charles! He had caught them. He plucked each one out and sat them down on the table. Terror! Fear! Dread! Covered the faces of our tiny adventurers. They just knew Charles would smoosh them Into jelly! However, instead, he let out a thunderous yet joyful laugh.

A little embarrassed the five all looked down at their feet laying out in front of them. Charles knew they had come for the orb, but had been sidetracked by the cookies. He wasn’t even mad in the least. Because Charles knew that the cookies that he made where so good that no one would ever care about the orb once they had tried them.

So our tiny humans fumbled out of the cave. Leaving behind Charles, all the treasures and the glistening purple orb that still lay above the icebox in the cookie jar. However, they didn’t leave empty handed, for Charles had given Christabel the recipe for the cookies.
