As Fate Would Have It

Fate

By Arch FolkPublished 8 months ago 3 min read

Did you know the number one cause of death among African American toddler boys is drowning? I became enlightened to these statistics after my son touched the sky. Angels fly away to Zion to look down on us from their home in glory. We can continue to believe that the good die young. In this life we are destined to die, fated to go to heaven and positioned to look on the bright side.

It was destined that my son would transition through water. He physically left this realm last summer, in perfect health. He did not decide his own destiny. He was destined or predetermined by this society. Society pleases sorrow so well that earth will always be a battlefield. It was destined for us to live in apartments, trailers, houses and all other types of dwellings. These man made homes were not created by the indigenous. Society rearranged our natural way of lives, and put us in more danger that is necessary.

Earth was created by love. The world was created by money, not love. We are destined to be outside of our comfort zone and forced to get used to it. We have to believe that things will get better, there will be a better day , the storm don't last always, and life goes on.

I know destiny can only separate us physically. For this body that we carry is only luggage and where I am to meet my maker, I won't carry extra baggage. My soul belongs to the one who has breathed life into my ribs. I accept with a jouyful heart, that I am returning to the yonder. God is the chapel. And when the time comes my earthly temple shall be no more to my soul. The body is the temple now. Sooner than later body and soul will no longer be one.

Yes, we believe in the One True God, yet the world around us was not created by the same fate.

As fate would have this young boy, heaven would be his permanent abode. His soul was innocent at time of his transformation. He could not be judged for any wrong doings, for he was blameless and without sin. His fate, timely claimed his precious life. His spirit is now fulfilled with an intangible elevation. Fate knew he was a good soul, and would have him now or later. For the power of time was on his side. Without sin, he steadfast on a straight and narrow path. He was always meant to reside in The Holy Mountain of Zion. Yet death, or destiny decided the time and the place, to pronounce him dead. So, fate made the final arrangements. Fate gave my son a brand new life in a brand new place. Fate would have him higher, holier, wiser and hollowed . He is now protected in God's kingdom, free from all harm. Fate made him born again. Fate knew he was an angel and deserved to live with his wings in plain sight. Although, he was destined to be hidden. He was fated, to be risen.

In society, we are doomed, in such a magnificent way. A perfect fate could deliver us from the statistics of our generation. I am dealing with the fact that our best friend has passed on, so soon. My beloved son, has seen a light that, I too shall one day see.

I know even better, that fate would always keep us united. We are divined, strategically to be together. He is my heart and as long as my heart beats a song of love he is there. His spirit shall continue to sing in the perfect pitch of harmony and laughter.
