Tamera stared at her computer stunned. She couldn’t believe it, William Grandberry was asking to meet her. This man was stunning. He had the deepest eyes, dark and mysterious, yet alluring.
She sunk down into her couch, letting the cushions embrace her timid response. She set her hands hesitantly on the key strokes, and cautiously replied back to him.
Well, hello back at you, William. A date sounds wonderful. It will be great to finally…. She paused, and grabbed her wobbly glass of merlot. Man, why did her sister have to talk her into getting into the dating scene again. She took a large sip, pursed her lip and went back to the key strokes… meet you. the last few weeks have been so entertaining, that we have to see what more trouble we can get into.
Send.
Her words betrayed her nervous energy. Another Sip. She could not be more thankful for the sweet courage that warmed her body. The deep red embodied the richness of the tasteful wine.
What could he be planning?
¬ She closed the laptop, and walked to bed. Rest would be good, if she could manage it.

William saw her email before he ended his night. The reply was perfect. He was set to take out the beautiful Tamera Hanrahan. He was elated. He was getting the chance to meet the woman who captured his heart with the first joke she made as her introduction.
She had commented on one of his online pictures. He had uploaded a picture of one of his more memorable birthdays. His friends decided to plan a surprise party, but not just any surprise party. A wake. That’s right, he attended his own wake for his 40th birthday party. The picture showed seven of his friends standing in front of an elaborate cake in the shape of a headstone, adorned in black, Singing, quite ominously “Happy Birthday”.
Her comment was brilliant.
“Well At least they didn’t take you to a graveyard”
He knew in that moment, he had to learn more about who this mysterious blonde haired, blue eyed woman, was.
~~
William was going to be picking her up in an hour, and she still couldn’t find the right outfit! She was on ensemble number 5. She huffed at the image staring back at her. No, this one was a bust too. Back to the closet she stomped, ready to call the whole event off. She looked tiredly at the closet one last time, and decided on the burgundy dress. She slipped into it, grabbed a pair of nude heels, and set to the next task. Her hair.
Finally, with five minutes to spare, she was presentable. She stared at herself nervously, maybe this time it will be different. Confidence. That was key. Her first impression had to show the confidence she scarcely felt. The door bell rang, and she glided over to the door to answer.
When Tamera opened the door, Will’s mouth dropped. She was a Vision! Her blonde curly hair was pulled half way back with the other half hanging over her shoulders and down her back. Her dress hugged her curves to show the full hour glass figure of a grown woman who had lived a full life. She was beautiful!
“Wow! You look beautiful! I have to say, your pictures do not do you justice. I mean, Wow!”
She blushed as his compliment registered. “You don’t look half bad yourself. Are those for me?”
He looked down at the flowers and grimaced. “Oh yes, I am sorry. Here.”
“Do we have a couple minutes? I would love to put these in some water.”
“Yes, we can spare a few.” She grabbed the flowers from him and headed to the kitchen. “So, I have decided to take us to a little spot I know down town. Has a great vibe, good music, and some fantastic food.”
“That sounds perfect” she watched him sit at the bar stool on the other side of the kitchen counter. “Let me find a vase really quick, and we can head that way.”
“How long have you lived here?” He scanned her kitchen and living room, enjoying her colorful take on home decorating. He noticed her love for vibrant colors through her choice of art on the walls and pillow shams. It was playful and inviting. He thought the same could be described for her personality.
“I moved in about 4 years ago. It is a cozy spot. I like living on the outskirts of town. Remote enough I feel privacy, but close enough to enjoy the city life when I want.” She sighed then.
there was no need for her to be so nervous. He was handsome, had a great smile, and he is just as easy to talk to in person, as he was over the phone. She took a deep breath, and slowly relaxed.
“There. Perfect.”
He walked around the counter to examine her work. “You said it. Perfect. You have an artistic eye.”
She grabbed her purse and they walked out the door. She turned to lock the door, and he noticed the start of a flower tattoo at the nape of her neck. He couldn’t wait to ask her about that little treasure.
He smiled to himself as they took the elevator down to the parking garage. Will pointed to the car and walked her to her door.
“What a gentleman.” She looked up at him with a sweet blush on her cheeks. He loved seeing that blush, showing him how he made her feel. He couldn’t wait to explore that further. He tucked that thought away for later this evening, as he walked to his car.

He paid for Valet parking. She was grateful for the excuse not to walk across a parking lot in these heels. She sucked in her breath at the sight of the place. Breath taking. She had no idea that this place existed, and she was grateful for the wait. She turned to Will as he came around to her. He grabbed her hand and walked to the hostess to give her their reservation.
He led her to her seat, and sat across from her.
“So, what do you think?”
“Well for a first impression, you nailed this one. It really is a sight.” She smiled as a smooth jazz song started to play in the background. “I appreciate the music and atmosphere. I even like the fountain” She pointed to an elaborate fountain That faced the open patio where they were seated.
He smiled. “Good. It was my hope to make a great impression for you.”
“Well, you certainly have. Especially when you tripped over the curb when you handed your keys to the Valet.” She laughed at his defeated expression.
“You weren’t supposed to see that.” He couldn’t help but laugh too.
“You needed a good Ice breaker, tripping definitely served its purpose.” She was teasing him, and it felt good. She had a wicked sense of humor and could give him a run for his money. He could see many dates in their future.
The waiter interrupted their moment as he presented the drink list for the evening.
Will ordered a bottle of the Merlot. Tamera looked at him and her smile reached her eyes.
The perfect glass for a perfect night, with this amazing man.
This would leave her with a lasting impression.
The End.
