A Multitude of Blessings

Today was Thanksgiving here in the United States.

I am nestled in tonight in a warm home with heat, two adorable children who got to spend the day with their Mommy, and my boyfriend. I have had a lot of things lately that I am not exactly thankful for, but I wanted to take a moment to count my blessings.

I have a home with heat, running water, and electricity.

I have my two kiddos and got to relax knowing that they are safe and happy this holiday.

I have my boyfriend who is so amazing. He doesn't know ASL for when I lose my voice (as I periodically seem to do), but he is learning and he corrected my son when the little one allowed his dad's influence to come out - "just talk already mom" was met with, "your mom is having a hard time talking right now, but you still need to do what she told you to do..." and my boyfriend reiterated out loud what I know that my son could understand in ASL.

I got to cook my favorite foods for Thanksgiving, use my china dishes, and not have any complaints about either of those things. *smile*

I am thankful to have a working computer - thanks to my Mom and step-dad - so that I can do my writing.

I am thankful for amazing family! I didn't get to see any of them today due to weather, horses getting out, and vehicles breaking down - but I am still thankful for them all!

I am thankful for my friends - you each are so dear to my heart!

I am thankful for a wonderful mechanic who did what I never expected: my vehicle broke down and I was told that they likely wouldn't have time to get her fixed until the 5th of December. I had a surgery scheduled for December 4th though and asked if there was any way that they could get her done before that Thursday. They said they would try - and I was called to pick my vehicle up yesterday! *smile* I am so very thankful for their hard work - and giving me a Thanksgiving miracle!

I am thankful for my professional support system who continue being outstanding and safe, trustworthy individuals who I can count on: my autism therapist, my kid's skill building person, my kid's new person, my son's social worker, my mental health social worker, my doctor (and her amazing team of nurses!), my psychiatrist (and her amazing team of nurses!), the therapist that I have been working with for a long time, my peer support person, my community support person, the support planning person who helps word things correctly, and probably more that I am forgetting about right now.

I am thankful to my ex's for each teaching me at least one (probably more than one) lesson about who I am. Many of those lessons left lasting scars (mentally), but each of them reminds me to love myself enough first in order to not repeat the mistakes of the past.

I am thankful for those who read my blog and who continue helping me to do a little something with my business.

Thank you!

What are you thankful for today? Leave me a comment with your gratitudes if you want to. *smile* I would love to hear them!
