The woman resigned instead of apologising as demanded
A woman claimed that her manager demanded her GPS location, hospital photos, and medical prescriptions while she attended to a family emergency.
In a now-viral post on X, the woman shared a screenshot of her conversation with the manager as she explained that she had already informed her team lead about missing a work seminar due to a relative undergoing cancer surgery.
However, she claimed her manager not only ignored her prior communication but also insisted on proof of her whereabouts during the emergency.
"There was a seminar at work yesterday. I had already told my team lead I wouldn't be able to attend. But the manager told me to come yesterday. I told him that a family member had cancer surgery, and this happened," she said as she shared the screenshot.

The situation escalated when the woman claimed her manager repeatedly questioned her and demanded verification of her absence. "When I told him he was being disrespectful, he got offended and said I am in no position to tell him how to do his job," she said in another post.
"Then he repeated the line 'Tum ne surgery karni thi?' (Were you supposed to perform the surgery?) at least 20 times, insisting he was right to ask," she added.
The manager allegedly yelled at her for nearly half an hour and instructed her to go home and send an apology email along with hospital documents. "I sent him a resignation email instead," she said.

Employee Resigns After Boss Demands GPS Location and Hospital Photos During Family Emergency
In a recent incident highlighting the growing concerns over workplace boundaries and employee privacy, a woman resigned from her job after her employer demanded real-time GPS tracking and photographic proof of her presence at a hospital during a family emergency.
The employee, who was dealing with a critical situation involving a family member, informed her supervisor about the emergency and her need to be at the hospital. Instead of offering support, the employer insisted on continuous GPS tracking and requested photographs to verify her location. Feeling that her privacy was being invaded during an already stressful time, the woman chose to resign from her position.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of employees pushing back against invasive and unsympathetic workplace practices. In another case, a woman named Hillary Zinks faced a similar situation when her sister was declared brain dead. While her film studio boss responded with empathy, her other employer questioned the timing of her notification and showed a lack of compassion, leading Zinks to quit that job.
These stories underscore the importance of empathy and respect for personal boundaries in the workplace. As employees become more vocal about their rights and well-being, employers are being called upon to foster environments that prioritize human dignity over rigid policies.
