Warm welcome and joyful beginnings mark Nursery Orientation at this school

The vibrant campus of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park buzzed with excitement and warmth as the school hosted a delightful Nursery Orientation for new parents and their little ones. The event, held on a bright morning at 10:30 am of March 22, 2025, was a perfect blend of information, entertainment, and community spirit. While the young children gleefully bounced on swings and a giant inflatable to stay engaged, the parents were ushered into the beautifully decorated auditorium for an insightful session.

The orientation began with a traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony, symbolising knowledge and wisdom. This auspicious moment was graced by the school’s esteemed Principal, Ms Surabhi Joshi, Vice-principal, Ms Vandana Bansal, and Pre-primary In-Charge, Ms Rachna Jain, alongside new parents who were warmly welcomed into the Apeejay community. Following this, Ms Harleen delivered a heartfelt welcome address, setting a positive tone for the event. The auditorium, adorned with a welcoming theme, echoed with warmth and enthusiasm as over 100 parents participated in the session.

A highlight of the morning was the mesmerising performance by the Junior Orchestra, where talented students from Classes I and II delivered a soulful and harmonious rendition. Their exceptional musical performance captivated the audience and showcased the school’s commitment to nurturing creativity and talent.

Post this, Ms Surabhi Joshi took the centrestage sharing ‘Whose child is this?’ I once asked, noticing a young one nearby. ‘Mine’, a parent smiled, expressing pride in nurturing their child to be good and ready for the world. When I asked again, a teacher replied with the same warmth, guiding the child with care and dedication. This partnership between parents and educators forms the foundation for a child’s growth and success. We acknowledge the leadership that drives this education forward, including collaborations with esteemed global organizations. Their dedication has earned numerous accolades, including the Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding contributions to education and leadership.

The mic was handed over to Ms Rachna Jain who extended her warm welcome to the parents for their new beginning! “This programme marks the start of an exciting journey where young minds grow and thrive. At Apeejay School, we prioritise holistic development, focusing on intellectual, emotional, and social growth. Our curriculum, aligned with global best practices, fosters a love for learning through play-based and experiential methods.

Early childhood is a crucial stage, as research shows rapid brain development during the first six years. We emphasise foundational literacy through engaging activities like songs and storytelling, making learning enjoyable. Together, let’s nurture curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning.

Now, let’s enjoy this very journey. She then introduced parents to the school’s well-structured and holistic curriculum. Later, emphasised the importance of thematic learning through innovative methods like Jolly Phonics, ensuring a fun and effective learning experience for young minds. A dynamic presentation ran in the background, offering a glimpse into real-time classroom activities and the vibrant learning environment at Apeejay School.

Ms Jain also elaborated on the school’s experiential learning approach, which integrates advanced tools like smart boards, music, computer classes, art, storytelling, and science experiments. Special emphasis was placed on Sports Guru, a unique club fostering physical development and sportsmanship. Additionally, parents were guided through digital platforms like Moodle and the Parent App, which provide easy access to important information such as the monthly plan of action, tiffin guidelines, dress code, and transport details.

“What a wonderful event! The children’s infectious smiles made it an unforgettable day. Moreover, the choir’s performance was beautifully and unimaginably presented”, shared Ms Prerna, mother of Tushir, a student of Nursery.

“The orientation day was well-planned, and the children seemed very comfortable, which is what matters most. I have known about Apeejay for a long time, and I am delighted with my decision to be a part of this community. Overall, it was a fantastic day,” said Mrs. Reshma, mother of Aayat Bhat, a Nursery student.

“The event gave me chills and a sense of nostalgia. It was wonderfully planned. As an alumna of Apeejay School, I always told my daughter that she would study here too — and that manifestation has come true,” shared Mrs Anubha Raman, mother of Anairaa Gupta, Nursery.

A heartwarming moment unfolded when four confident students from Class II took the stage to share their reflections on school life. With their infectious smiles and charming expressions, these young speakers won everyone over, offering a glimpse into the nurturing and joyful environment Apeejay provides.

The event concluded on a graceful note with a vote of thanks by Ms Vandana Bansal, expressing gratitude to all present. “A heartfelt congratulations to everyone on the successful event! I extend my gratitude to the parents for trusting our school and to the dedicated teachers and staff for their tireless efforts in preparing and supporting this journey. Together, we are building a vibrant and strong community that prioritises the growth and values of our students. A special thanks to everyone involved in organising this memorable occasion. The morning’s proceedings came to a patriotic end with the National Anthem, leaving parents assured and excited about their child’s journey at Apeejay School.
