Some tendencies persisted, while others changed and became more specific. Some tendencies have (hopefully) passed. There are also certain classic styles that are making a big reappearance in the market.

Motion Design

Motion design has exploded in popularity, and you can probably find it everywhere. UI is no longer a static object – consumers demand it to visibly "live and breathe," from micro-interactions to elaborate animations.

People's attention spans are shrinking as a result of Tiktok, Instagram, and the continual motion that they are exposed to on a daily basis. Some believe we are currently at the level of a goldfish, if not below.

To keep consumers engaged and intrigued, we must employ motion and strive to breathe life into static panels and pictures to make them more immersive.

Clean Design

When I'm browsing through various applications and websites, I find the clean and simple ones to be the most pleasant and professional appearing. To design a fantastic, current digital product, you don't have to follow every single trend.

It's fine to be inspired by some trends – as long as it remains stylish and makes your ideas future-proof. Because trends may be overpowering at times, it's a huge relief for any designer.

Multicolor Soft Gradients

Aurora gradients, abstract gradient forms and shapes, gradients on buttons and cards, or brilliant and vibrant bursts of color utilized in backdrops with parallax effects - this trend appears to be alive and well.

Gradients can also be found on text, such as in headlines to emphasize a certain word.

High Contrast / Monochrome

Many websites and applications, including the industry's major players, have strong contrasting aspects and, in some cases, whole sections.

While scrolling across the interface, the continual flashing of highly contrasting elements/surfaces might increase your concentration.

It also makes the UI more approachable due to the high visibility of the components and text, unless you overdo it and induce eye strain.

Gigantic typography

A highly apparent and powerful trend presently. Because of the higher screen resolutions, it is mostly utilized on websites to generate a minimal/brutalist/raw atmosphere. Frequently with full-screen images and significant animations.

There are so many amazing font suppliers available right now. From free sources such as Google Fonts or Font Share to numerous outstanding paid font families such as Gilroy, Circular Std, Mont, Axiforma, Nexa, and Galano.

It is reasonable to state that when it comes to digital goods, the balance of functional and aesthetic elements is critical.

Virtual and Augmented Reality

Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) have been around for a while, but they are now being used more and more in the design industry. The technology is becoming more accessible, and designers are taking advantage of it to create more immersive experiences for users. With VR, users can be transported to a different world, and with AR, virtual objects can be placed in the real world, enhancing the overall experience.

In the fashion industry, AR is being used to allow customers to try on clothes virtually, while in the gaming industry, VR is being used to create more immersive gaming experiences. The possibilities are endless with VR and AR, and designers are just scratching the surface of what they can achieve.

3D Design

3D design has been around for a while, but with advancements in technology, it's becoming more accessible to designers. 3D design allows designers to create highly realistic and detailed objects and environments, which can be used in a variety of industries, from product design to architecture.

With 3D design, designers can test out their ideas before they go into production, saving time and money. It also allows for greater collaboration between team members, as the 3D designs can be easily shared and reviewed.

Asymptotic Design

Asymptotic design is a new trend in the design industry, which is all about creating fluid and organic shapes. The idea behind asymptotic design is to create shapes that look as though they are in motion, even when they are not. This type of design is perfect for creating a sense of movement and dynamism, which is important in creating engaging experiences for users.

It is being used in a variety of industries, from fashion to automotive design. Asymptotic design can be used to create anything from logos to product designs, and it is sure to be a big trend in the coming years.

Conclusion

Design is constantly evolving, and new trends are emerging all the time. Some trends, like clean design and gigantic typography, have been around for a while, while others, like asymptotic design, are just starting to take off.

It's important for designers to stay up to date on the latest trends, as they can inspire new ideas and push the boundaries of what is possible. However, it's also important to remember that not all trends are appropriate for every project, and designers should choose the trends that best fit the needs of their clients and users.
