Top 7 Authors Who Predicted The Future And Were Right

Science fiction writers undoubtedly have different kind of minds. They always try to think and write something that’s beyond the imagination of an ordinary man. Predicting the future has always been a popular and favorite topic among them. Most of the writers were wrong but few of them were terribly accurate. They were so accurate that people sometimes called them modern day prophets. These are 10 authors who predicted future –

Top 7 Authors Who Predicted Future

1. Hugo Gernsback

This masterpiece was written in 12 parts and compiled into a single novel in 1925. It is one of the most influential science fiction stories of all time, with horrifyingly accurate predictions. Television (and channel surfing), remote-control power transmission, the video phone, transcontinental air service, practical solar energy, sound movies, synthetic milk and foods, artificial cloth, voice printing, tape recorders, and spaceflight are all successful predictions from this novel. It also includes the first accurate description of radar with a diagram.

2. H. G. Wells

This man is thought to have an alien brain. For many reasons, he is regarded as the father of science fiction. Major reasons include his incredibly accurate predictions and thoughts about the future. Although many of his predictions have yet to come true, such as the Invisible Man, Time Travel, and Interplanetary Warfare, which he described in various novels. Nuclear weapons, the Moon landing, genetic engineering, lasers, and World War II are all predictions that have already come true. His most famous prediction can be found in the book "The World Set Free," in which he describes the destruction caused by incredibly powerful bombs known as atomic bombs. It's terrifying to think about how well these people predicted things.

3. C. Clarke

This novel is an absolute masterpiece; it deals with space exploration right before humanity landed on the moon. It tells about human evolution from apes and the evolution that we might undergo in future. But the best predictions of this novel were HAL 9000, an artificially intelligent computer that’s quite similar to today’s SIRI, and an electrical newspaper that resembles the same features of today’s iPads and tablets. C. Clarke is one of the top 10 authors who predicted future.

4. Jules Verne

The major prediction was, of course, the moon landing. Aside from that, he attempted some rough calculations. Considering the lack of data on the subject at the time, some of his figures are surprisingly accurate. He chose aluminum as the material for the capsule that would launch humans into space, which is common nowadays but was quite rare at the time. The modern low-cost aluminum production process was introduced 20 years after the book was written. He even predicted the exact location of today's Kennedy Space Center in Florida nearly a century ago.

5. William Gibson

Williams Gibson was a future visionary and one of the authors who predicted the future. He predicted the Internet, which has now become a reality. But he also predicted things like virtual reality, which could be the next big thing in this decade. We have already seen VR headsets that will revolutionize the entertainment industry. In the 1980s, he even predicted Google Glass.

6. Martin Caidin

This book tells the story of Steve Austin, who has a plane crash while flying. He was left with a severed limb, one eye that was blind, and other minor injuries. A secret government branch working on bionics takes an interest in him and replaces his body parts with mechanical prosthetics that are more powerful than the originals. This concept has now become a reality. People are even working on mechanical exoskeletons to enhance human abilities that our organic body parts cannot achieve.

7. Douglas Adams

He perhaps predicted many things about the galaxy which were not confirmed to be true when he wrote about it. One thing that he accurately predicted was a real-time translation between two different languages through a Babel fish. We might not have a fish to do that task but our Smartphone apps can do the same.
