Traveling Through Books

Everyone who wants to enjoy life wants to travel. Everyone

who wants to explore wants to travel. The man has a traveling

history since he was born. And the traveling depends upon the

resources a man has. Some travel by air, some travel by train,

and some travel by road by any means of transport. Even

walking through meadows and mountains and plains is also a

form of traveling. In his travels, a man learns a lot. He gets a

good sense of understanding people and gets a good

observation sense of surroundings. He comes to know about

the people and places of the different areas of the world he

traveled through.

But today, I want to tell you about another form of traveling,

yes, and that is “Reading Books”.

Yes, I am the person of that decade when there were book

lovers. And I am one of them.

Reading books gives an extra pleasure. The love of the library

gives the brain a soothing feel of books. When I was a student,

I used to read different books. Those books were of different

kinds. They had been some novel books, fiction books, poetry

books, short stories, and sometimes a newspaper was also

included in my reading material.

The people who used to read books have a different point of

view about the world, society, and human beings.

Reading books keeps the mind active and productive and gives

a new sensation to think in new ways.

Traveling through books is very easy. Sitting in your library on

a rainy morning, sitting on your lawn on a sunny day, sitting in

your lounge on a leisurely evening, or lying easily on your bed

on a cozy night make you travel through different places by

reading a book.

When a book is about some particular city or country, that

enhances your knowledge about that state. You come to know

about the people over there. You come to know about the

foods, the dresses and the traditions of that country or the

particular place. As I didn’t know about the New Year Night of

China celebrations because I have never visited China. But I

came to know about many interesting things and traditions

about Chinese New Year through books.

Books are not only the pages and the words written on them.

But books play the role of bridges. The bridges connect the

writer and the reader who never met in their life. But one

person is pouring his thoughts and feelings and experiences

into another person’s mind through his words, and the other

person is absorbing all that into his mind.

Another additional quality of books is to place them on your

shelf. They give intellectual beauty to your room where they

are placed. They give happiness not only to your heart and

mind but also to your eyes.

Some additional qualities of books are, the happy touch

the book, the happiness to make a fold in the corner of a page

to keep the sign, and foremost, the feel of their smell gives and

overwhelmed feeling. Books are the best present to give any

person.

But with time, I want to say, unfortunately, that

new technology is replacing books. The new generation is

deprived of the feeling and the happiness of reading books.

They do not have the happiness of making an effort in the

library to search for a book by following the catalogs. They will

be unaware of the pride of issuing a book from the library.

Their rooms will be deprived of this beauty of keeping books

on shelves. There would be only their laptop or maybe

something new in technology.

At present books are being published, but soon or later, I fear,

this trend will have vanished. I feel sad about this. Sometimes

the books lying on my shelf make me gloomy. I feel as if they

will die one day. No one will be there to mourn for them.
